Community is the key, methinks: cult classics like original Fallouts and Jagged Alliance 2 got some tools developed by modders themselves, if I understand correctly.
I also very much hope for base game success - for Skycancer DLS.

The devs have already said that there won't be any shoreline on the maps you will be fighting on. so the possibility of beaching  being a mechanic is low.

I am a huge fan of good sound effects. Big beefy guns should sound big, beefy, and bass-heavy. I hope the sound effect department can keep up and make this even better.

So people keep asking what will the time line be like after 1940. The more people ask the more I think can this game work like A Man In A High Castle. Because in that show they still had Battleships kicking around ,so would that work here?

Don't you guys think it is time to throw us another bone on this update? One of the reasons I enjoy this game so much is the communication from the Devs.
