Canons not dealing damage upon impact (not bouncing).

Sooo, a day ago I noticed that sometimes when I fire my canons from a perfect angle sometimes, even when shots penetrate they deal no damage. When It happend to me I failed to record it however, one of my friend encourted the same bug and he has recorded it (link:

). I am not sure if this is new mechanic, but shots do count in the hit section. Has anyone else had this problem, as it can get very annoying in bigger battles.
