Karvala Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 In a recent fight using medium guns, armor could be damaged from range just fine and as expected the balls did not also penetrate and damage structure. However, once the armor was entirely depleted on the side I was hitting, further hits started to damage the armor on the OTHER side, but left the structure completely intact. Once the armor on the other side was entirely depleted, numerous further registered hits to the hull did no damage to anything and the structure remained fully intact. I don't recall seeing this behaviour previously so I assume this must be related to the recent thickness changes but perhaps also to a change in how guns function that is not documented. It also seems impossible to believe that this is intentional, i.e. that we are supposed to believe that the structure is somehow completely invulnerable to hits beyond a certain distance but that canon balls magically pass through the structure without harming it to damage the armor on the other side. Can it be confirmed that this is a bug, or a change, or otherwise intended behaviour? Thanks.
Potemkin Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 (edited) Saw a fun one the other day where you can open up a bow of a ship, then do unlimited structure dmg firing directly perpendicular into the bow section from broadside. Pen mods ftw i guess. Edited July 25, 2020 by Potemkin
