API and Player Made Tools

I tried searching the word API, but it is only 3 characters... Sorry in advance of there is a thread out there. . On to the post:

IN SHORT: any plans for API that players can make 3rd party tools & apps?

THE LONG: I love API based tools associated with games. The more flexibility given to the player base, the better. Don't shoot me for saying so, but I believe Eve Online had been most successful in this endeavor and that functionality had given that game life beyond its years (just my oppinion).

mm not sure what they are, some kind of mod.. but mods i would like to see in the future

This would be like:

The ability to link character & Society info to your webpage.

Ability to pull leader board stats.

Ability to download buy/sell order information.

Inventory downloads (personal & society).

Ability to create mobile phone apps and/or other 3rd party apps.

Ship & weapon stats (though maybe this info is closely guarded / not for release).

Possibilities could be endless...

I would love to have that for the market like in eve, if only for the sake that i love to put stuff into spreadsheets.

Any API is welcome, as I see it, as long as it does not replace any function of the game.NO INTERACTION with anything from within the game through the API. That is my take on it. Simple data retrieval. No input possible.
