Norbert Sattler Posted June 8, 2020 Posted June 8, 2020 As I understand it, a longer ship of the same mass will be faster, but less manouverable and a broader ship the opposite. Will there ever be something like a length to beam slider or will this always be handled solely via the hull type? 5

Norbert Sattler Posted June 8, 2020 Author Posted June 8, 2020 Apart from customization, it's also something that was done historically. Just take the Iowa for one rather high profile example. She was lengthened compared to her predecessors to up her speed to something that could keep pace with the carriers. The Kongou class were also lengthened in addition to having their boilers replaced when they got rebuilt if memory serves. 1
