1. Like some others I bought the HMS Victory 1765 and I like the look of her (great job devs)!

2. But what about the infamous prepatch problem of the ingame Victory, the tendency of getting badly leakshoted?

In my few battles over the weekend i didn't notice her being prone to leakshots, but today in the morning i had a battle in which the problem occured again:

- I turned with depowered manual sails, taking the wind from somewhat astern and the ship heeled tremenduously without apparent reason.

- My NPC opponent (also a Victory) fired a broadside at me while i was still in the process of turning my broadside towards her and i took 10 leaks (thickness of 92).

Has anyone had similar expiriences with the Victory (dlc or crafted) in the last few days since the latest patch?

Leaks happen on almost every ship (I have leak sunk Santis, L'Oceans, Bellonas etc.). Being able to work around leaks is part of the game-play of every ship.

If the wind is pushing your ship downwind, and the enemy is upwind of you, chances are you will leak. Just depowering is not enough in nearly all occasions (neutralising sails helps a lot).

Haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary on my Vic

Leaks don't depend of you thickness , leaks depend if you show you waterline.

Everyship in the game can be leaked , some more ez cause of hull disagne (but most of time compensate by better angle for bounce shot)

Although you might (rightly) think of me as a noob, I know of these factors too, but nevertheless the heel in the above mentioned situation seemed quite out of the ordinary!

Thought about it a bit:

Had an upgrade installed this morning, that increases yard power.

Could that be the reason for extraordinary heel?

Sounds like a logical explanation, however I'm not sure. Probably people more knowledgeable than me that could answer this

we tested leaks and full broadside under waterline without waves
victory to ocean 52 leaks

But does that test the Vic's tendency to show a lot more of it's underbelly while sailing?

As i say , everyship can be leaked

Victory give more waterline when he turn , cause smaller ship and more bulge hull disagne

I believe that leaks are still way unbalanced in comparison to other ways of sinking ships. Its much quicker and easier to demast as you can shoot from whatever side or wind position for example.
Loosing wind should be more punishing so positioning and maneuver to get best wind will become more crucial
Either reduce number of leaks required to sink any given ship or make leaks cause more penalties. Heavy penalties for getting so many leaks. More leaks = more penalty E.g.  Immobility, 75% of turning reduction, pause repair, reduce cannon reload by 50%  etc. More leaks = more crew is trying to save the ship. Its insane when ship receives 10+ leaks and is still saved...

Some might also think it insane, that you can cause as many leaks regularly on certain ships, whereas other vessels of the same rank and similar buildt are much more resistant.

When you sail perfectly past another first rate and leak the hell put of him. Best feeling ever. But due waves etc sometimes hard to achieve in the first run. For me the leak mechanic is fine, but only to a point where the player can control it. Like deepower setting sails neutral is a good way to avoid getting leaked.

As long this stays like this I am fine.
