Marshall99 Posted June 2, 2020 Posted June 2, 2020 (edited) So I wanted to build the SMS Viribus Unitis (Austria-Hungarian) battleship (1911). She was the first battleship which had three 12" (305mm) guns mounted into one turret. My problem is that I can't design her, because in the custom battle, when I want to build her in 1911 there is no triple turret. I hope, in the campaign we can build her (when we choose to play with Austria-Hungary) in 1911, because if we want historical accuracy, this is a must. At least for me. (And also no triple turret option in 1912.) Edited June 2, 2020 by Marshall99 5
Norbert Sattler Posted June 3, 2020 Posted June 3, 2020 1913 has tripples, so they are two years off right now. But the hullform of either Dreanought hull is quite different. In one case with the back of the ship being a deck lower and both having very differently looking casemate slots. Also neither Dreadnough I or II can go low enough to hit the correct displacement. Please show some love to the Austro-Hungarians. It's not like they had all that many ships to begin with. 5
Tréville Posted June 3, 2020 Posted June 3, 2020 In the campaign whether you'll have this option by 1911 is probably going to depend on your research funding, research priorities and luck in making a tech breakthrough.
Alias72 Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 I would support having the Tegetthoff class' hull form as an early or mid dreadnought hullform. It has a sleek look to it with plenty of deck space.

I read some books about K. U. K. Kriegsmarine but I never heard about this. But I would like to add one little correction: Skoda is actually written with Š at the beginning (Škoda). I know it's a minor detail but because the Škoda works are in my country I felt need to correct this. 1

And I also dreaming about an oldtimer, Škoda 100 Edited July 10, 2020 by Marshall99
Cptbarney Posted July 10, 2020 Posted July 10, 2020 I wonder if the steam release will include any new hulls or stuff in-general? Eitherway i like the ship, also the 3d model is beautiful guessing it was made in autodesk fusion 360, then edited and rendered in maybe max, blender and/or marmoset toolbag? Can't wait for the new hulls and other stuff they bring, shame the campaign is far away but at least they are taking their time with it than rushing it. 1
Marshall99 Posted July 10, 2020 Author Posted July 10, 2020 I would love to see this hull in the game. Even if she was just a plan, she would fit in the game just fine. At least the Austro-Hungarian Navy would get a "historical" battlecruiser too. 2

I don't think that this ship remained in the phase of planning is a reason for not adding it. H-class remained just a plan too and altrought that it Is added into game. 3
