Smoke Lasting Longer?

I noticed in a small PVP last night in my yacht (out for a jaunty jaunt)... smoke lasting a long while.    So much so I had to wait about 10 seconds to clear so I could get a shot off.    I even think I just said, forget it and went for another ship (I was in a 1 vs 3 battle... one of my team sank fast and the other was D/C).

 

I like it!   I was hoping that hiding in smoke would be possible.   Except I could see their name, but couldn't fire since these were small ships, fine targeting is crucial.

 

Next time I'll try to grab a screen shot or a quick video

The smoke does stick around for longer than just about any blackpowder game I've seen. It just doesn't blow in the wind, so if you are moving slowly, it can blanket you.

I noticed it a little more smoky last night too thought it was my imagination.  Should be slaved to wind speed of course but I like it too, stops the long rage fire from 'parked up, handbrake on ships...'
