New Feature Proposals - Art and other various featurs. (Not related to combat, RVR, DLC or Economy)

Please post your ideas related to ART, Texts, localization, and other issues not related to RVR, Combat, Economy and DLC proposals. 

Standard rules apply.
 

Please propose your ideas in the following way.

  • 1 Post = 1 Proposal.
    • Players will vote on 1 proposals only. Multiple proposals will mix different subjects and confuse.
    • Multitiered or multi subject proposals will be removed.
  • Keep the proposals on the topic subjects
  • Do not comment. The thread is for proposals only
  • If you want to improve on other people proposals contact them so they can update the post. 
  • Best proposals will be brought up by the system based on likes and we will comment on them once in a while. Proposals which dont get community attention will be ignored and will sink to the bottom.

Please open NA to Steam workshop with regard to the graphic aspect of the ports, the map to consult with the possibility to customize with comments, the possibility to add graphic elements that do not affect the gameplay. Opening the game to Steam workshop could make the game graphically better (no offense you know i like your game) by "taking advantage" of the passion of the modders.

Drag All UI separate at least Compass and ships to your own destination in battle and save positions

(running 3 screens 5760 x 1080 and keeping track on stuff is a pain)

Improve the communication with players. 

Use the PVP PvE servers window for more announcements, we still have the one about selling accounts, polls, warn about players behavior like insults opponents in battle chat and so on.

It would be very helpful to have a map grid with numbered quadrants (switchable). Also a measuring tool for getting the distance between two points (or at least a scale bar).

Proposal:  Animal life

I would like to see whales, dolphins, flying fish, and albatross.  These creatures are common in the ocean and deserve to be in the game.

Current version is too lifeless.  

All of these creatures could criss-cross the open world map indefinitely, as they all tend to move in straight-ish lines.  If you're worried about server load, make them client based sprites.  No interaction is necessary and no need to worry about collisions.  It's a quality of life - literally LIFE - suggestion.

Battle replay recording.

Add possibility to record battles in form of a replay, which could then be replayed afterwards from any perspective.

So it's not a movie, but actual full battle replay holding all necessary information to replay the whole battle instance offline afterwards. Like Starcraft II replays, World of Tanks replays and many others.

Keeping gusts visible

After once discovered on the map gusts should remain visible on the map until the next maintenance.

Click on the port - opens a map where the events occurred.

Conquest Icons - scheduled Port Battles icon in target ports

  • Automatically added to the map at the port the PB is scheduled to
  • Mouse over icon shows PB date/time
  • Benefit - all Conquest PBs are visually presented and if iconography is nice, add life to the map.

Please work on the climate, to make it more Caribbean-like. Let's have some proper sunshine, bluer seas and shorter rainstorms. At the moment, the climate is as gloomy as the North Atlantic. And please ditch the 'raindrops on glass' thing, which is so inappropriate.

Unlimited paintings

If you buy the painter DLC you can have unlimited paint removing the actual cooldown. A paint and a painted ship becomes untradeable, you need to destroy the paint before put in trade in port or private transacction with other player.

People can "Refit" their ships in different ports to get the "Liverpool Refit" from say one english port, "Nassau Refit" if you refit it in nassau etc, cartagena refit etc.

How it happens is that beside the "Repair ship" button you get a choice to "Refit Ship" with a warning that it will take x hours/minutes (depending on how big the ship is), the ship "stays" in a drydock at that said port where you can grab it after the refit is done, what refit the port has should said in the port info tab on the top left where you can read what woods and resources drops there.

PS. Could even add so you would need some trade goods to complete the refit, Sables for the boarding refits etc.
