Beyond SMS Scharnhorst, what about SMS Goeben (and other German Battlecruisers)? We can almost make them, but the parts just don't look right.

Illusive Tabby Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 One more thing. At least on the Nelson/G3 hull. The secondary 7 inch guns....This is listed as the 2 barrel turret, and the one barrel turret has 2 guns.

Since this game is a sandbox of the time period, doesn't make since to lock them to only historic nations. Many nations considered quads, just only a few actually built them. I honestly don't want them to lock hull/tower designs to specific nations either, but that's more about aesthetics than the practical reasons behind quad gun layouts. madham82 Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 Locking it on the campaign really makes no sense. You are asking to lock it to nations that actually built those. If you adopt that approach, there's no need for Germany to have an H-Class or guns bigger than 15" since they never built those, or the French a Super BB with 16"s, etc... Remember this game puts you charge of research, design, and production. You are not limited by the reasons other countries chose not to build quads. 3

I'd hope that in the campaign each nation comes with it's own unique pros and cons, boons and challenges and unique flavors outside of nation's flags and global positioning. Also, alright, getting the game patched now. How exciting, this patch I've been looking forward to. Okay so right off the bat, love the HMS warrior hull. But I've noticed you still can't put guns in the modern tower casemate mounts for the Hood style superstructures. No casemate guns are even available for them, and none of the secondaries fit. Like, I'm on the Modern Battleship Mission, and it seems like changing hulls I don't get new gun models, or they fail to transfer. It's... weird. Might be because the gun models are tied to the nation you are playing as now, so guns from US ships will not transfer the german ships. 1

Ye. I get that. Maybe I need to clarify. What seems to happen is that if I make a model of another ship of the same nation, sometimes it seems the models of the new guns don't transfer over, or change. I could always take screenshots.

Hangar18 Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 (edited) @Nick Thomadis I found another! The USN large cruiser hull always gives a false poor sector of fire warning. This is regardless of caliber or barrel count. As you can see below, its not physically possible to give the guns better sectors of fire, but the warning persists. I tried all sorts of combos to attempt to find a place where the warning did not appear, and failed. Can i has 12" mk8 as reward? Additionally, there are still snap points on the masts that are entirely unusable, but im sure you know that. While i can't be sure, i think the stereoscopic range finder has a bug too. I'm not seeing it affect long range firing statistics anywhere, this could be a display bug, or maybe its not functioning as intended. Edited March 18, 2020 by Hangar18 1
