I played Uncharted Waters for years. What was a good point about that original game was this. A  newbie could not be "ganked" by an old hand.  there was balance regarding terms of battle. As it stands with Naval Action, a guy that just got promoted to the point he can crew a Wasa at 80%  gets "ganked " by a top level player with all the books and upgrades of benefit.

 I have played the game for 4 years now..but this has ALWAYS been an issue. It is to the point you need a fleet of friends protecting you as you go out of port and try to get some experience on a new class of ship. THIS is why sooo many people "rage quit " this lovely game....

 

  This game is set up for " seal clubbing " . For those who do not know  what seal clubbing is ,where a man with a club walks along a beach and clubs baby seals for their fur...a walk in the park..... 

  If the game owners really had a desire for this game to be a hit, they would address this MAJOR issue regarding the battle balance. This is the key issue for the game having a "mixed" review on steam...new players are simply target practice/cannon fodder.
