Drugie Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 So i came across this bug during my recent boarding. He initiated with slighty more crew than me, i than fired my broadside while speeding up and ended up killing ~50 Crew of his and thought i got the safety from my determined defender now. Apparently the boarding calculates with the initial pulling crew instead of the currently available crew. it didnt get adjusted during any round - should have taken another screenshot later on to proof that but it was in the heat of the battle. I would like to know, which crewvalue is being used during the boardingcalculations for attacks, muskets etc. I am not angry, he got to board me. but that he has 50 more crew than is shown in the top right.
Ink Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 Greetings, With the Determined Defender perk on you can be boarded only if the initiator has more crew than you. According to the screenshot your opponent had more crew than you.
Ink Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 According to the post, the initiator started the boarding and only after that a broadside were fired and crew killed, is this correct @Drugie ?
Cpt Eole Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 (edited) The point is, I think, that he shot during the "pulling phase" and not during boarding stricktly speaking. But it still doesn't look like a bug to me as the crew calculation is made before boarding phase. I have a question about this situation, will it reduce crew moral as crew was killed before boarding ? He's crew moral seems still pristine to me. Edited March 11, 2020 by Cpt Eole

Drugie Posted March 11, 2020 Author Posted March 11, 2020 The broadside was fired after the pulling was initiaded. and before the actual boarding started. i was perplexed by the two different crewcounts on his side.
Baptiste Gallouédec Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 (edited) the 872 was probably the crew count when pulling was initiated, and the 50 dead from the broadside will count as OK (other kills/ outside kills?) on the round 1 kill count i expect. Edited March 11, 2020 by Baptiste Gallouédec
JDMonster Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 Did he suffer 50 other kill casualties after the first round of combat?
Drugie Posted March 14, 2020 Author Posted March 14, 2020 Maybe admin can check that? I didnt pay attention to it anymore after the actual boarding was going on. Or someone wants to investigate with a "friend" and see if it corrects the value?
