Wallace Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 Dear developers, can u explain me, why u implemented a nonsense cheating ai with stupid damage? An AI thats hit every shoot and hard hull penetration? An AI cerberus can easy kill my essex AND my fleet with 3-4 full shoots! The best way to complete missions is fast try to boarding them. But is thats the point? The missions currently make no sense, why are they there then? In the past, it worked... The best way to get level is to make 7 rate missions with 3 stars and a fleet. i can farm over 800 exp... with 5 rate missions only 200 exp. Some players also enjoy group missions, but its impossible too. Im unfortunately losing the fun of this game. it used to be more fun when the ai wasnt overpowered. I hope u can reworke the ai.🙄 1

I hope u can reworke the ai.🙄 No need to rework the AI. NPCs were buffed due to their lack of artificial intelligence. NPC behaviour is very predictable, so it is not a big problem to beat them 1vs1. If you need help, ask a friend or in nation chat, sail with others and learn. Some things you might want to consider: always angle your ship to the enemy do not waste a broadside when the enemy is angled NPCs only have medium cannons. If you have long cannons, you do damage at range while they don't NPCs do not shoot sails or masts, but they do shoot at bow and stern NPCs don't repair, but you can do that When you are in a small ship versus a large one, you should use your maneuverability to stern camp it. Shoot ball into the stern until the stern armour is gone. Then you can switch to grape, reduce crew and finally board it, or keep shooting balls until the center structure is gone (the NPC might also lose his masts), then sink him. Take a Hercules or a Snow and sink 3rd rates or 2nd rates to gain huge amounts of XP. 1

It is not the point of a action/simulation to outwit an equivalent ship. Ai shouldn´t be cheating. I just passed the last exam. I can outsmart them. i know that, but its no fun for me and my friend. (We always do missions together.) Or fight with a snow vs. a 3 rd rates or 2nd rates.... thats boring and stupid, i will use my 5 rate ship for missions. 😕 There must be more possibilities than that. Its enough if elite ships are like this.

You will almost always face loki, which would make battles more interesting and diverse. Also note that at start NPCs often have double charge or double ball loaded. After a few broadsides they start shooting single balls.

It’s not an instantaneous, master in a couple of weeks, kind of game. Good luck.

In the past, missions combats was more realistic and fair.
Sasquatchv Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 what are you talking about? Missions were boring as f.... Now NPCs are doing more than sailing in straight line with impossible aiming angles(they used to shoot way over 45 degrees to bow-stern line). Elite ships diesel engines is different matter(i had demasted victory catching 10 kt redountable). still with some practice you still can sink 2x frigate in teak/oak trincomalee using medium canons only.

Maybe you should try to fight other players then. No artificial buffs, more intelligence, varying playstyle.
