Another vote for the eve-online type mega server. Hoping the developers will tell us what is feasible when the open world testing comes around.

I also vote for one big server, it seems like the natural choice.

The port zerging that Flip worries about can be handled by simply making it so a port can't be taken in a single attack. One successful attack puts the Port in "reinforced" mode a-la EvE, a second attack is needed once the Port exhausts the stored supplies.

Any server with and open world , both  pvp or pve included

There should be something done that Gankers dont camp Ports or the near of it so that trading dont stand a chance. There should be different lanes of approach to your target. Maybe more time consuming but you should have a higher chance to go unharmed.

 

If too many Gankers hang around in the vicinity of a port there should be a Governour that should call to arms to clear it and people would think twice to just hang out just out of the reach of ports forts and wait for a Victim to show up.
