William the Drake Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 The Pre-Order pack clearly states that it includes Alpha Acess to the game, priced at 29.99 U.S. dollars, as well as the premium yacht, priced at 20.00 U.S. dollars. The overall bundle costs 39.99 U.S. dollars. (a 10 dollar discount). However there is one extra perk that seems pretty vague: Additional bonuses that we will add as we expand content This raises a question that I think everyone who has pre-ordered, and those who may even be on the fence about pre-ordering, is what exactly does the pre-order entitle as the game progresses and even when the game goes full release? There has been discussion of premium purchases as well as single purchase base buy in. So what does and will the pre-order status mean as development goes on? The devs state that "There also won't be any meaningless tires that many developers create. If we have any higher priced packs they will have higher level ships and meaningful rewards." Does this mean those that pre-order prior will have immediate access to these and above additional bonuses without further purchases? What about status in game and access to newer content after initial development? Will we be considered "patrons" with immediate access to content that would otherwise require an in game purchase? If there is a "premium" status, will "patrons" take precedent? And a bit more specificity on "premium" ships, such as the yacht: will these be in danger of being sunk/lost? These are just a few questions that come to mind when thinking about the long-term entitlements of a pre-order, and may even make it more enticing to those who are still considering a purchase. Cheers, Drummond. 1
Galileus Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Most of these questions may only be answered with - we will see once we get to that point. It's mostly just posturing and leaving space for anything that devs could plan in the future. What they will plan in the future, we don't know. it's not the future yet. 1
