so i have been watching alot of videos about the game and it looks like a really awesome and polished game. I cant wait for the open world to come out and i want to get into the action now but should i wait for the steam early access to come out? or should i buy it from paypal cause i heard they only send keys on fridays and i have never used paypal.

Paypal is fairly easy to use. You can store a balance on Paypal or you can pay straight from a credit card. If you lack a credit card you can transfer funds electronically from a bank account. I don't think you even need to sign up with them if you pay straight from the card.

Keys go out on Fridays. That's a delay, yeah, but there will probably be more Fridays before Steam early access release so it's still the fastest way in.

As someone who was foaming at the mouth to buy into alpha while they were unable to accept Paypal payments... I'm not one to advise you on whether waiting for that marginally better convenience is worth it or not.

Remove the word "polished" from your expectations.

Sea Trials plays very well, and it's a lot of fun.  I haven't regretted buying it early for a moment.  That said, I'm also approaching the entire game from the idea that there will be downtimes, bugs, problems, balance issues, stuff that flat out doesn't work or looks natch, etc.  If you're ok with paying and being a tester, which is very different than a player, and are not expecting fast customer service, servers that are stable and always up, and a bug free product, come on in and join us!

Yes I think you should at least wait for the next content update which will be Damage model 4.0 as the game is pretty bare bones at the moment. I regretted buying it now but that may change in a few months when the current problems are fixed and new features are added.

I don't think you should wait.  Now is the time to learn (and test) the game without consequence.  The TDM style games are also very addicting.

Its definitely worth it. I have loved every minute of it. I now have ~20 hours on it over 1 week. Tons of fun. It only is going to get better.

In my opinion, as a game(being on test phase) this game is running sweet, and yes POLISHED... there's not much content.... but it is polished for shure.... at least in comparision to other games in testing phase, like dayz for instance...

Ya don't NEED it... I play this game on a regular bargain basement 15" laptop, and when I can't get the rubber tie over my arm to get a good vein for a fix, have been known to play it on a paltry 13" convertible laptop/tablet using medium graphic settings....  AHHHH... even that felt WONDERFUL.

Were my shots at accurate? Prob'ly not, as (obviously) biggest screen / better video resolution will somewhat improve your view / aiming / shooting accuracy... but the game software itself via Steam still works wonderfully well.

- I dunno how they've architected the software, but it stands up pretty well so far - even when you lose your internet connection and can get reconnected fairly quick - it will return you to the active engagement you just disconnected from - fairly seamlessly, I might add.

Bottom line, DO IT... I've already gotten WAY more than my paltry purchase price out of this, just during TESTING.

DO IT

This is always the key in my opinion.  Been a tester on MMOs since Ultima Online an if you are getting into early access just because you want to play, often your going to find yourself very disappointed and it might even ruin the game for you.  If you are there to test or at the very least are ok with things not working correctly all the time or being continually changed, then early access or any sort of Alpha/Beta testing can be fun.

Best 40 bucks I've spent on a game in a long time. Far more polished than the term alpha would make you imagine and the devs are really active. This game is going to be a real winner.

I agree..the game is in TESTING but it has a good polish on it IMO.....

Hell, I have been playing (MWO)  Mechwarrior Online for over 2 years and this is way more polished that that.

There is not alot of content ATM compaired to the final game. We play, fight, learn, huntbugs, afew graphic errors...but we are sending in our reports of bugs and error we encounter and the DEVs are fixing them.

welcome to TESTING......

oh........BTW  Do not Wait you will love it

If you do end up pulling the trigger on it... and this depends on how you play games... try not to play it too much.  The last thing you want to do is get sick of a game by playing it to death when it is in such an early state.  This is also what I am doing in Star Citizen, trying to not play it all that often.

I will say this... the game has a lot of potential and is a lot of fun.  It is also relaxing, I haven't had a single game or situation that pissed me off (which happens in many other games).

I doubt VERY much that i will get bored of this Game,i have been waiting for a game like this for years.I used to fight this era using Miniatures for a long time. Also having a background in the RN it wont become boring \LOL.I just hope mt other laptop can handle Direct X 11

Today is the last day to get in before steam so you need to pull the trigger now or your decision gets made for you.

As for getting bored.  The game can be slow paced at times but if your a fan of the Age of Sail, I have to say this has to be the best and most realistic Age of Sail game I have ever played so if your a fan, I sincerely doubt your going to be bored.

Also the game play right now, which is just death match, is easily on par with much more mature games like WT and WoT as far as fun factor and it is only going to get better.

Just joined in last friday and compared to other games that lable themself MMO/SIM aka Elite:Dangerous the money I spend here got me way more fun in 3 days then 4 month in ED were the Devs really lost the plot.

I´m looking forward to Open World and just hope that Game Labs doesn`t make the same misstakes Frontier is making currently. The biggest ones would be to go full P2P which opens alot of doors for haxors and such and making everything a massive boring grindfest.
