Benjamin Magnus Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 Yesterday while streaming I noticed a bug I had not seen before. 3 gun turrets only ever firing 2 shells. I watched the guns firing several dozen times, counted the shells in flight, counted the splashes, then to be double sure watched the ammo counter. I restarted the mission to see if just a quick turn it on and off again would fix the problem, same results. Rebuilt the ship, but removed the turret that was giving the issue, the bug moved to a different turret, removed that turret, and it moved again to a third turret. Easily repeatable and the entire fiasco was streamed lived to see.
Wurstsalat Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 (edited) This is actually working as intended. While ranging more than 2 barrel turrets just use 2 guns to better observe splashes (more would somewhat make it more difficult to range). The turrets should only do it while still ranging tho. They should not do it all the time. Edited December 14, 2019 by Wurstsalat
akd Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 You are correct that is how it works in game, but the explanation is incorrect. Ranging shots were more effective if conducted with more than two barrels because a better ladder could be formed.
RedParadize Posted December 16, 2019 Posted December 16, 2019 Sometimes, quite often in fact, a caliber group will get stuck in ladder firing forever. You can easily see it when it happen as the hit chance number stall and never lock. The only work around this bug is to change target. If there is only one target... well... 1
goduranus Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 Is that really a bug? or just not having good enough towers on your ship to counter the enemy's maneuvers throwing off your aim?

It has been reworked in last version and now it make more sense. Before that it was a situation that could go on forever.
