felelo Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 I know, I'm aware of it... this just sounds like nitpicking, and I may sound like an asshole... but it feels like(having myself played with unity before) that a simple tweak in a config of some water script would solve this, so I feel comfortable in talking about it... We shouldn't be able to se the keel of a ship from above water!! Not even a Cutter... this just make them look like miniatures... hahaahhah. And in storms, sometimes I can see the hull completely... like theres no water, just a thin mist... Don't worry... 95% of the time I'm immersively playing the game, really happy... but there's always a moment when I see this... and them suddenly I'm not Jack Aubrey anymore... Im a dude sitting in a chair 350 miles from the ocean! hahahaah Making the water less transparent should work... or just darker colored 1
maturin Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 From an aerial perspective you'd be surprised how much water you can see through if conditions are right. But stormy seas are not the right conditions. Rough weather should make for the most opaque water of all.
Thomas Blackwell Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 I'm all for making the water more opaque.
Destraex Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 I'm all for seeing reefs rocks and depth sounding as well as throwing in the log to determine knots.
Jher Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 I did notice it now that it's been mentioned here Mostly unrelated, but a closer perspective from the deck of the ship would help to increase the perceived size of the vessel, the third person view does make them seem quite small
