I recently got back into NA and while I appreciate the bump up to MC from the tutorial wouldnt a exp boost for use by veteran players entice some to join back. I have close to 800 hours in this game and grinding up the ranks one more time is just brutal. This could also help level up more casual players by giving an exp bonus that grows while they are logged off, a la world of warcraft. Nothing major just a 100% gain the next 1000 exp per day the user is logged off with a cap at 10K or something.

Wasnt the server wipe like 6 months ago? Not not necessarily returning player anyone who is playing casually and needs a little help keeping up with clan mates.

I just don’t see how your suggestion makes sense.

What I could see is some good old fashioned marketing to tempt returning players: a steam message that we’ve noticed you haven’t played in a while. Come back and we’ll match your next 2000xp.

you can, as a returning player, and what everyone (hopefully) did here do the exam, then you don't start from scratch. and you get a lot of gifts too.

When you have 800 hours of gameplay (and experience) then the exam would be an easy job for you.

The problem that should be solved is not how to climb to the highest levels, but to make it fun to play in the lower levels

You can have a ton of fun at the light Frigate stages.  If you feel that the only fun available to you is in 1st rates, then you are missing out on very large parts of this game.  I can sympathize with most people's wish to get into a Victory, but that fact remains, we all started at zero.  Why should this guy get a boost?  He quit the game and now wants to be rewarded for it!  XP for being logged off??!!  Go hunting...git Gud!

I do not say it for me, in fact from time to time I go sailing in cutter (not basic).

But I have observed how several players have left the game for not having time to level up as fast as the rest.

Isn´t the levelling and achieving itself big stuff? as torrente stated above, having great fun - and being a useful companion in battle - is possible with a fine cutter as well. personally I´m strictly against afk levelling. same for angus comment. you can sail in a nice frigate the 1st day after returning to the game.
