@admin looking back at it, dumbing down the system so you only needed Raw resources removed alot of trading content as newer players with not such an established hub could actually influence the nation in therms of crafting. I thought it was a good change at first, but have remade my decision lately even though personally I wouldn't mind having the hard resources only to craft a ship. But it brought soul to the game when you had to bring those furnitures and blocks from Misteriosa to Belize to craft your ship. It also made it possible for the ship crafters to "buy" labour hours from the new player so that guy also could get included and feel like a part of the community

for reference see the old requirements to craft a ship; http://www.navalactionwiki.com/index.php?title=Crafting Alot of Sub items not just raw materials which can be crafted by lower ranked players, and would require material hauling since its not something you can grow across the world.

New crafting requirements; http://www.navalactioncraft.com/craft-ship/locu00e9an Only hard resources which can be farmed from your own port, you can literally place 10 forests on one tiny island which wouldnt suffer from overharvesting etc :P This also makes it less needed to cooperate with others, not saying you cant solo it on the old crafting aswell, but the new crafting is less inclusive in therms of other players.

I didn't know we had 'Trading and Economy' anymore...

We dont, we have a reason for trade ships to be in the open world for over 2 hours so they can get sunk for easy 6th rate missions.

Pretty much.  It seems that with these missions, the meta is to load up in a cheap TBrig and if you get tagged, just surrender...rinse and repeat.  When traders were required to invest in their cargo (and when the cargo gave a good return) you would more often see escorted traders in OW and far more of them as well.  I actually enjoyed trading a year ago, because of the tension  and risk involved.  Now it's just a chore that I sometimes have to perform while watching Rugby.  Only once since release have I kept a captured TBrig (Teak and WO) and brought it home.

Ill put it this way, I created an account on the peace server and started off doing some trade and slowly building up. After about a week I have an indiaman (purchased for 300K) and after constantly doing trade runs from KPR to Portillo i have amassed a whopping 500K. So in about another week I should have enough to start creating buildings to gather resources. On the war server, I would expect a new player to take at least 4-8 times longer due to ship losses and such. Delivery missions are not worth doing anymore.

You can easily make 500k in the war server even as a fairly new player. Delivery missions still reward 100k+ reales (if you sell the doubloons) for the cost of 1 T brig, which is 0 reales if you have a decent clan. Making money in game is as much of a chore as it ever was, and many things in game are a lot cheaper than they used to be just a few months ago. So the dip in rewards from cargo missions is not as big a drama as some people make it out to be.

As a player I would like to see more rewarding activities that people actually want to do and that are fun to do. More rewards for simply participating in PvP and RvR; maybe some more daily events like PZ. Maybe some daily/weekly or scaling achievements in PvP/PvE that could give players rewards just for playing; instead of forcing players to take part in activities that they hate doing.

Yes, IF you have a decent clan, my point was towards a new player who has not joined a clan and is trying to get started in gaining experience and reals. Established players seem to have lost touch with what it was like when you had to do everything by yourself without any support. That is what new players to the game have to contend with. For them replacing a lost trader brig is a bit more time consuming then you may realize due to both the time to go FIND one and then get to it before either another new player and capture it. As for delivery missions if you fail to deliver it, it does NOT show up back at the port, so you have to grab the next one in line and risk sailing there in hopes that you are not intercepted. With these seal clubbers sitting outside KPR it is not as easy as you may think, and the capital zone does not even reach to the end of the harbor.

As for better rewards to PVP, that has already occurred as I have seen more reals and doubloons given for taking out a player (which only fuels more seal clubbing since they are totally risk less ventures). I think that based on the number of players online now, what I am saying is more factual then just conjecture, but believe what you will. The number of players who remain will show who is right.
