Hi Gents and @admin,

seriously, cant think about a worser and more imbalanced implementation of different wind speeds :(

- Think about 1st Rates who picked up a Wind Boost anywhere, catch a Privateer upwind... :P

- think about Fir/Fir Speed built ships easily get catched by Live Oak/White Oak tanky ones

---> overall, just consider that this wind thing MESS up any balance with Ship Builds and different Ships because your OW Speed depends not anymore how your ship got crafted, but only who picked up the better wind boost

It just cant be that Players in the SAME spot of the world have DIFFERENT wind speeds !!! :(

Either make it so that EVERYONE in that region gets the boost...or delete the feature completly

...very simple

...and it is implemented in a way that you have to sail over to a gust which you discover in a certain distance to get its bonus

This can be up to 85 % speed bonus !!!!! ... for a certain amount of time

This way, you can bring your VICTORY easily to 40 knots OW speed for several minutes...catching everyone who hasnt picked up a wind speed because he came from a different location

INSANE :(

Well, this wind thingy was thought to decrease sail times.

The solution is simple. While it is active you cant JOIN battles or TAG anything. As soon as you desactivate the boost, a timer of several mins should appear denying tagging or joining.

Yep...that would be also a solution

Some features only need tweaking.

Black and white changes are never good.

Ofc you are right...but given what we know about how long the Devs needed to change broken mechanics in the past :( ...it may be much better to delete it completly until a fully fleshed out version is available

You know what happens once that scary 40 knot Victory is in battle with you?
It becomes or normal bog standard slow as hell Victory which can't sail close hauled for it's life and you can be on your merry way.

All sarcasm aside though, this is indeed a difficult situation, as other ships that are bettert suited to pursuit of lighter prey can heavily exploit this.

I agree in what you're saying.

but I think it's also fair to ask that we all see the zone/trade wind "wind" or else it kinda becomes a little silly.

the boosted victory on sterooids might just be right in front of you at the start of a fight. you´re right, it can and will be exploited by other ships better. but the whole thing is just infantile!

I've yet to come home and play test

Is it not the case that this adds more depth? i.e your vic example, that guy found the correct tradewind and hence a better speed. I imagine once you become familiar with the tradewinds you can eek out an advantage over folks who don't know them?

Pure conjecture on my part. I need to get my hands on it so i can test
