Dread2005 Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 Hi Comm, hi Devs Its a hard live out there to make money by trader missions with your tbrig or tsnow. right now i can fullfill about 33% here a idea which might be interesting for all it would make more PVP related options i think give the nation/harbour a effectiv bonus in some way if any Player of any other or own Nation can fullfill a Trader Mission to the harbour give a negativ effect, if missions to this harbour fail, the effect should be against the Nation if possible Goal of this is: player of the Nation from the destiantion Harbour will not attack enemy player which trade to there own city! player need to hunt down enemy player trader ships at other Nations harbours, so they are in dangerous waters themself player of the Nation from the destination Harbour will help the enemy player which is in trouble because they need this mission fullfilled future, make it worth to escort other players as soon as they need to move goods/cargo in some way what do you think? 1

It is kind of counter-intuitive to help enemy traders in your waters, but on the other hand it gives interesting incentives to keep one's waters safe, promoting trade and all. well the enemy trader is not going to get killed in the harbour after delivering either.... so somehow the enemy wants those goods or? 😜
Dread2005 Posted September 20, 2019 Author Posted September 20, 2019 yeah thats true i never said make trading a easy no brainer
Sea Archer Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 We need more traders and their cargo must be worth something. I suggest that in enemy ports a trader acts as a smuggler and doesn't pay taxes, but is a valid target for raiders.

In fact the main problem is that the game give reward for kill and not for capture ....and that is really innacurate ...During sailing age Ship were to precious to be sinked and the capture was more rewarded than sinking ..... 1

It was like that during a certain time in EA ( patch 10 ). I loved it. Majority disliked it Trade goods and more important, crafting resources and materials were the main cargo being transported. Same with warships - capturing them was challenging but truly rewarding. And would deny your enemies a ship ( and time and materials involved in building them ) while providing your own nation with a new vessel. Alas the drive towards less than realism approach and more gameplay mmo type won the heart of the designers. Still the game can be very fun, albeit flawed in a "simulation of the grand age of sail in the caribbean". 1

In fact I would argue that the players that currently play would not only encourage capturing to be more valuable, but also that PvP missions and combat medals should not be in the game period. 1

What would you do about alts purposefully taking and failing missions to enemy ports to weaken them ? if someone hast he money and time to do that, why not.... and in the end its a drawback for both sides! Failing the mission should be a harder negativ, then weakening the Port. So it would take a lot faild missions, and you could designe it, that its only a downgrade for the port under several conditions. So not just except end delete the cargo!
