Hullabaloo Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 This has just made a mockery of the game! 1st rates were supposed to be rare and special, now they are everywhere. The seas are full of undercrewed sabicu/bermuda shabby Pavels, maybe with a basic tackle refit slapped on! Gazillions of combat medals for sinking virtual noobs! I've had more fun in this game this last week than i've had in years! I'm sinking players and they are saying things like 'good fight mate was fun!' WTF! People having fun and being friendly! This is Naval Action FFS! Change it back! 14
Audacious Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 (edited) Game population is down , you gotta do what you gotta do. I am actually enjoying game more than ever. Would be nice to have more loot and better port models. Otherwise game is becoming what I want it to be. I see my clan members do more sailing and hunting. It does work. People having fun and being friendly! This is Naval Action FFS! Change it back I'm not sure I understand. You're saying that ships are plentiful and players like it? The logical take from that is if gear/mods/books/woods were more easily attainable, players would build more and sail out without fear......that can't be right... Earl of Grey Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 Lets wait some weeks. I remember the fleet training room or what ever the name was. First two weeks it was always full an some people prophesied naval Action Legends a wunderful Future. After this two weeks it was hard to get a 1 vs 1 in the training room ... meaningless victorys are No victorys at all... Im Not against this Change, but He wont cure NA ...
Koveras Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 If @admin wanted players to stay he'd make all ships craftable (The current permit ships could be made available by dubloons/combat medals), remove port bonus' or graft them on to the crafter instead of the current system where players/clans can effectively be locked out of important gameplay, i.e. crafting and rearrange the frontline system so the capital battles becomes the finale of a regional campaign with mixed BR for the county ports rather than the current system where the grand battle is the first and the rest are basically uncontested.
Severus Snape Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 Imagine how more active and fun the game would have been if lineships were cheap to build and sail 2 months ago during the launch. They only made this change AFTER we lost half the games pop. 2
HachiRoku Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 you should be careful with your humor mate because not everyone will understand it.
John Cavanaugh Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 “This game is not supposed to be fun” - Admin i am sure they will patch, don’t worry 3

So big capitals will fall, a lot of players will loose their Investments and will freeze … the zerg will finally end, and the game also. 1
Nick the cursed Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 What's sad, with 1/2/3rd rates cappable, is now on OW, mostly, (almost) all players are sailin' SoL, what 'bout lil' ships? I'm ok to fight a Bello on a Snow or Privateer but it take so many times... Was more funny when peoples sailed more 4/5/6 rates! 3
Sir Loorkon Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 (edited) RvR is the intended end game content (in my eyes thats a mistake). To sail 1st rates you need much less skill than sailing e.g. a 5th rate. So to make the end game content available for all it is necessary to have high BR in ports (in my eye thats the second mistake) and give access to 1st rate to everybody (third mistake in my eyes). In the end you feed broken mechanics with broken mechanics. The player base is to low for 20000 BR battles in most nations. The „end game content“ is so time consuming that it is not doable for people that have a job and want to keep it and for smaler clans you can not even rotate players because you need them all to fill the high BR. That is killing my motivation atm. Edited September 20, 2019 by Sir Loorkon 2
Guest Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 capturable 4th and even 3rd rates could be justified because they were the go to ships for navies, but 1st and 2nd rates should however much people want to sail them be rare. Compare them to other games that has legendairy items, Yes everyone wants them for themselves to use them, but they should be earned through hard work (maybe several months of gathering), and should bring a wow factor when they are used, but now we see them left and right.
Cetric de Cornusiac Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 Everyone using the biggest ships... fun... Wonder how long this straw fire will last. I think it is better to have an aspiration to something which is not too easy to be reached, it gives motivation having to struggle for it. Despite the fact we on PvE Peace Server have the capturable SOLs all the time, I am and always will be a proponent of rare First Rates. Not necessarily restricted to "big clans", but in general hard to get and hard to maintain. Fun? Actually it's more fun sailing a more agile ship... 1
Baptiste Gallouédec Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 (edited) Just prepare for Temeraire, Montanes & Wrecker as DLC. Why not ? Now everyone can get an admiralty Ocean for free from ow. At this point that will be even more easy access "fun" for all. At this point better have them as DLC than behind rng permits. Game will still be dead by christmas though without gameplay for noobs & low tiers + alliance +durable gameplay making each aspect interesting on the long time instead of a one time supergrind (like the port investments, knowledges slots or the player ranks right now) Edited September 20, 2019 by Baptiste Gallouédec 2

They only made this change AFTER we lost half the games pop. to be honest, that game is a moon shot and they cant row back now. maybe it would help that PB are not filled only with SOL (like in WOWs limited it so that we have all type of ships in it from 1st to 5th rates). The capture able 1st rates are a big mistake and when you now take this change back then more people will leave this game. And, at the moment only the Russian faction benefit from the game. This and other broken things like economy (if there is one) and crafting (to easy) will kill more or less the game. Other things like CLAN flags or some other ship customization are hardly missed. And I'm not a friend of all these updates, books and wood types for a ship. Ships are build in OAK variants and this is it, even those unlimited(!) repairs should be limited. So that only good sailors have a better chance to win a sea fight. A draw in a battle would make more sense and fun. 1
Guest Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Alot of stuff they suddenly want to test now are things that should've been tested before it was released
Marquês do Bonfim Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 *laughs in portuguese* Instead of making 1st rates the goal of end game, harder to craft or obtain, now you can simply gank a solo 1st rate and simply capture it for yourself.
