Sailed yesterday and today almost an hour without seeing an enemy AI ... not on high sea, around cuba ...

But it´s always the same logic in this game: pvp-hunters needs prey, so we make the pve-ers sail to enemy ports (only there they find AI in decent amount) ... so a kind of pizza delivery for PvP "hunters" ...

Problem - as ever - players dont like to get forced ... and beside this its a very annoying procedure too, to sail 20 min, kill an ai, sail 20 min back to repair ... so in the result pve-ers dont sail just quit playing ... after that pvpers quit playing ... and now even AI quit playing ... lol :)

Sometimes it is just bad timing. One day sail out and there are lots of AI around, but the next day sail out to finish mission and nothing. It is a big map you might sail to freeport and see nothing, then pop out and there's three enemy players. Although I have never sailed for 2 hours and not seen at least some ai around.

Depends where a player sails.

Personally, I like some variety.  There are areas of the map thick with ships of various sizes.  Other spots are rich with enemy players.  I can sail for an hour and only see a few friendly NPCs and players, but that is deep within Brit territory.

The game would lose its open world atmosphere if there was lots of various ships everywhere, spread out evenly across the entire map.

If you want ships, then travel to them.  Its like hunting or fishing.  Go find your prey.
