benabbib Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Hello Admins, my feeling is, that since yesterday update AI count on OW has decreased massively. Is that correct? Kindly BenAbbib.
Earl of Grey Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 (edited) Sailed yesterday and today almost an hour without seeing an enemy AI ... not on high sea, around cuba ... But it´s always the same logic in this game: pvp-hunters needs prey, so we make the pve-ers sail to enemy ports (only there they find AI in decent amount) ... so a kind of pizza delivery for PvP "hunters" ... Problem - as ever - players dont like to get forced ... and beside this its a very annoying procedure too, to sail 20 min, kill an ai, sail 20 min back to repair ... so in the result pve-ers dont sail just quit playing ... after that pvpers quit playing ... and now even AI quit playing ... lol Edited September 13, 2019 by Gilles de Rais 6
Sea Archer Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 Yes, there should be more ai sailing around. If you want to fight them, it is best to start from a freeport, you avoid the 20min sail to enemy waters by that.
Earl of Grey Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 sailed to PZ today ... almost 2 hours no AI, no player ... at least i put sails down and cooked ... then 4 french found me ...
DeRuyter Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 Sometimes it is just bad timing. One day sail out and there are lots of AI around, but the next day sail out to finish mission and nothing. It is a big map you might sail to freeport and see nothing, then pop out and there's three enemy players. Although I have never sailed for 2 hours and not seen at least some ai around.
Lancelot Teggin Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 They should populate the map with more AIs for sure I agree with that

Depends where a player sails. Personally, I like some variety. There are areas of the map thick with ships of various sizes. Other spots are rich with enemy players. I can sail for an hour and only see a few friendly NPCs and players, but that is deep within Brit territory. The game would lose its open world atmosphere if there was lots of various ships everywhere, spread out evenly across the entire map. If you want ships, then travel to them. Its like hunting or fishing. Go find your prey. 1
