PB at Morgans - Pirates were not getting any points from Circles

We all have F11ed it.
Should have been an easy win as we got correct entry. Lost due to a bug

1. PB at Morgans. Pirates had 2 circles from the start B and C. No points gained at all
2. We lost B and GB indeed start getting points from A and B.
3. We recapped B and A and at one point had all 3 circles. This time we start getting some points but very small amount like we would have 2x1 circles.
4. GB took C circle and we got left with A and B. Surely we stopped getting points again.

Please investigate. RVR right now is very broken. If we have bugs like this its gonna pretty much kill player base to a point of no return.
Please address asap.

??? Even if we had them captured and had more people in them???

Isn't that makes PB offense strategy pretty dull - just get fleet join down the wind while ensuring you have someone in each circles.
Capturing is actually doesnt mean anything. Its just presence in the circle that now matters.
And if you have bad wind you are done....

Basically all game now is about the fight or avoid the fight. Like in this PB. We wanted to engage. GB didnt want to. PB without a fight.
In the past we had shrinking circles. Pushing people into fighting was important. What is happening with the game???

Bad wind ... wind is something you have 15 min to think about every windchange and you can actually plan the first 2-3 windchanges on a portbattle before the PB happens since you know the wind before the PB

And yea, wind decided a lot in these age of sail battles

Wait, are you saying that the first 2-3 wind changes are always the same? Meaning, IF it rotates clockwise, then you know the other 2 wind changes? Likewise, IF it rotates counter-clockwise you will know the next 2 wind changes? I would hope it is completely randomized.

I know for a fact we held a couple of those points for some time without contest. still generated no points.

Yeah I get that, but defenders have huge upper hand here. This mechanic actually encourages them to waste time and avoid fighting.
And that's exactly what we have seen today. GB avoided the fight at all cost
They dont need to win on points. They dont need to sink ships. They just need to avoid fight for 1,5h and make sure there is at least someone in the circle so enemy dont get points...
Attackers will lose automatically.
Chasing game again?

To slow down point gaining they could have just... well slow down points earned per time...

Was a good effort Koltes, I applaud your team for making an effort.  You unfortunately joined in the worst wind position and was fighting the whole time.  When you abandoned C I was able to go take it.  I actually did my first Twitch stream for the port battle.  Will be doing many more with video content teaching players how to capture AI, fighting strategies and live Twitch, once I figure it all out.  The points accumulation changed 6 months ago I think, not sure.  But that is why our fleet waited to see what was  your plan.  i did not command or anything, I was just volunteering for everything playing with my Twitch and practicing cinematic pans.

I think the mechanic changed from having more ships in a circle to completely controlling a circle to combat the doing a port battle in small ships vs large ones. With the smaller ships usually having more ships on the field they could have a majority of ships and just sail around in circles avoiding the large ships. This change occurred over a year ago after a group entered a deep water PB in nothing larger than princes and sailed circles around the larger ships. While the PB did not have many large ships due to BR limits there were over 20 small ships making it easy to cap the circles simply because they could put more ships in the circles.

Well we actually joined on perfect wind to fight you considering old mechanic. We had circles and were waiting what YOU will do and plan accordingly lol

So first 15 mins it always flips the same way every PB? What is the sequence? CCW direction first?

+1 Visual indicator for point gain would be nice QoL.
