Yeah it wouldn't even reach 200 most of the time and when it did it was due EU players staying up all night.

The peak players are going down and its ok, it always happen to vidia games

All games lose population, however the decline seems quite fast and so soon after "release".

Could be summer slowdown, but don't think is a good sign tbh.

However you spin it, there is certainly no huge success.

Seems like someone is always posting in the forums that the game is dieing.  The population is dwindling and soon there will be only a few players and the servers will be shut down.  Urgent warnings to change the game, quickly, before it is too late.  "Make the game so it pleases ME !!! Or everyone will leave".

Been that way since 2016.  Three years ... soon will be four.   I remember playing on a server with almost no one (arena battles). .. Lots of nights with less than 100 players.

I think if there was any truth to these dire warnings of doom ... the game would already be unavailable.

This is why I work so hard to improve the newer players experience, so instead of being curb stomped until they just quit, they have fun and tell their friends = new purchases/more people.

I don't know what the answers are tbh, and as for "make game so pleases me"; I would rather they make the game so it is a success and hope it does so whether i agree with changes or not. Most important things are for game to grow, population to grow and devs to make money doing it.

Perhaps the changes needed are not game mechanics only and a player community problem intertwined.

Perhaps the raids mechanic will create better player retention, perhaps one of the suggestions in forum is the magical cure.....

I just hope that the answer is found and game can grow and blossom.

I love Naval Action, but to bury head in sand and pretend everything is ok solves nothing.

To much grind... to little "action".

Switch back the game to the one that we tested one year and half ago and you will see more action and less grind, but - if they did - there would be no reason for players to buy DLCs to ease the insane grind in an almost empty world. Add on top of that that Game Labs is going to launch another 4th rate DLC (the Leopard), and draw your conclusions.

The "empty" (boring and grindy) game (which is defined by some as "hardcore") we play is there just to artifically create the need for DLCs. So it's all a matter of monetization. the mood of the game will therefore never change (if not for worse): we just have to live with it or leave it.

The game is just to grindy, its a hugeee time sink.

We tend to forget that because most of us have alts, for a single player? Its unbearable, wanna make 150k? Watch the back of you tbrig for 45 minutes..how can you wonder why people leave this game? Its clear and simple, unless you have a few alts who make you money and your main can do fun stuff and be competitve, its just a boring time sink 80%of the time

i think port bonuses should be removed, its turning people away from the game imo, single players without clans cant get access to the BP's.

Port Bonuses may be one of the problems with the game but it is not a major reason for declining numbers. One of the biggest reasons for declining numbers is the inability of the game to retain new players and I have to say that people that camp nation capitals killing new inexperienced players constantly is a major reason new players leave the game. New players do not know about port bonuses, they have not been in the game long enough to learn what the meta builds are, they start the game and once they get out of their cutter they buy whatever small ship they can afford and head out of their capital to kill small ships and learn the game by doing a bit of PvE only to be jumped on by experienced players in their port bonus meta ship and killed. That is much more of a reason numbers are dwindling than port bonuses.

I was just about to post the same.

Farming new players with full port bonus, speed capped Wasa’s, joining the open battles where newbie is struggling agains ai wth more br. Kill quick and run if strong enemy is around with your super speed 3rd rate.

I know it is not your fault, it is the developers who ruined new player experience.

Still very ironic and funny, you are the one complaining :)

only during the initial 2 minutes.

Which is very easy when you are camping capital zone.

Can be a smaller ai, does not matter, they hurt the newbies, they are accurate. Now join that battle at 15 minutes, half damaged player, yummy.

So, isn't it up to the big players and clans to look after new players...?

Abandoning Capitals isn't the answer either, as the new players have zero back up...I think some nations need take a look at themselves and stop playing the victim card....

So what will you do when port raids come in?

I can see KPR getting plundered regularly if its not protected, i can already sail right up to the port without being tagged so its gonna get raided every night, then that will break the game...
