Any  chance of putting a wind indicator on the map ? ( Cute cherub blowing clouds) 

Also why are the servers down for maintenance so often ..... what maintenance is being done ?

There is daily maintenance time for about ah hour (might be longer with big updates) - it is needed to keep server infrastructure up to date
