BikeMan Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 I absolutely fell in love with 'American Civil War - The Blue and the Grey' mod on Empire because I could do stuff like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ws4JiKfJCo Either way I am very excited about the game and anything Civil War related!
The Great Dane II Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 I'm looking forward to many, many things in this game but what you wish for there, you can surely forget BikeMan. This game has it's focus on a much more clever AI than Creative Assembly has been able to deliver for now 13 years. A graphical engine of that size requires big money. Anyway - what we need now is a strategy game, which will be able to give us a good whipping. Imagine that one yearns to loose some battles! :-)
Clinch Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 If you enjoy zooming in and watching 6 guys standing around waiting for their turn to kick some dudes arse then stick with tw. I'm thinking this game is going to be more of a tactical game than a graphics masterpiece. I'm guessing it being a compromise between sid meyers Gettysburg and tw. Its the type of game we need.
David Fair Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 The Great Dane II, If you like tw zooming in you should go to an event hosted by some of the reenactment groups. It's great fun to stand in or near the line with the sounds, smoke, smell, and taste of black powder than zooming in on a computer screen. Clinch, I hope you're right and UGG strikes a balance between tw and Sid Meyers. It would be great so see a game improve on the Sid Meyers concept with closer linkage between scenarios and more battle continuity.
Trig Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 BikeMan, I am one of the modders still working on the American Civil War mod for Empire TW. So for your fix of close up fancy battles you can expect new updates of that game and some more entertainment value. But there is no way around the fact that in TW games AI is pretty stupid, no matter how hard we try to circumvent that with game tweaks...That is why I too am really looking forward to this here game, for it promises a different level of gameplay to our previous TW experience.
kenichinsfs Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 The whole Zoom Down idea.. Well I kinda don't like it, for now I guess. > Since it is still actually in progress.. It's better to just focus first on the important parts of the game before thinking and pursuing this idea. Especially when this is the kind of game that's hard to apply a zoom in function.. > Somehow, it doesn't seem to fit the background of the game to apply a zoom down thing function. Might as well just leave it that way. > Depends if the developers will stick to the plan of the theme of the game.
adambomb Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 How close or Zoom will we be able to get??
TheCenturion Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 How close or Zoom will we be able to get?? Considering every screenshot and video we've seen so far... you can't. I'm guessing it doesn't have a zoom option, and I really don't believe it needs it, since you're not exactly commanding individual men.
Nick Thomadis Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 There is zoom in/out function. Zoom out helps to observe the battlefield and zoom in is as close as it is needed. Zoom in/out actually has a rather special control importance in the game. We must show in some videos soon.
