So we wiped to give ne players a fair start right? yeah that helped... KPR where we all start as Brits now is a slaughter fest...  I had a Le Herm... yes even when I complain I support this game... and like any smart player I wanted to bring her out of kpr... she lasted a whooping 20 min before 2 players jumped her...  this was an awesome idea really.  Because before the brilliant wipe there was at least something like a KPR defence force... now its a kill new players area...

Oh and what makes this whole thing even better... thanks to complete wipe of production try to find some kinds of guns in KPR ...  medium 9pd ? nah... medium 6pd? nah... maybe if you wipe out all production capacity in a senseless wipe maybe the admirality should jump in and kick up production of some basic stuff?!

Get out in a basic cutter, make an outpost somewhere else and go from there. Seriously, it's that simple.

not to mention - other ports also have medium guns too. Or did i forget the memo that KPR is the only port around?

sounds like a great economic opportunity - buying medium cannons and selling them for profit in KPR.

NPCs also spawn medium cannons on the daily.

I'm incredibly surprised in the very high number of British captains I have heard are around KPR but still people are getting cut to pieces. Either organize and defend your waters or Jamaica will become the new East Coast. Wiping everything was the right thing to do. Follow the footsteps of the British clans and move out to form a home base. No one bases in KPR because it doesn't make sense to craft there.

My point is about new players I lost a DLC because I tried to actually do something on the way... I lost a DLC that I can redeem in a couple of hours so what... My issue is there was an ensign in it that was not in a clan, and had prolly his first decent ship. Again I dont really care, a DLC, not a good roll to begin with no updates etc I would have wrecked her tomorrow anyhow to see if I get a better one... But for the new players thrown at kpr... and sunk, thats a great experience! And about the guns again I know there are other ports I got mine from port morant the thing is you sail an undergunned ship to the port to get them... while other lurk arround to kill you... awesome :)

What is the suprise?

a) That many of them are new players and still don't understand the game mechanics?

or

b) The fact there is no high sec in this game?

Instead blaming the new players the real question is why didn't the devs created the mechanics to protect the new player experience. What we are seeing now this days after release it is a lost opportunity to fix the game and help the newbies. In a few months many will quit the game and everything will go back to normal. Mark my words.

Safe zones didn't really protect anyone anyways so I am glad they are gone. This isn't a dig at the new players, this is a dig at the experienced clans that literally left them behind to the slaughter. I don't blame them for not knowing the game, there is an incredibly steep learning curve that the tutorial helps with a little. GB has a similar issue to the US in that they get a majority of newer players, what GB has that the US doesn't is established, successful clans that are relatively good at creating a national front when they work together. I just remember a huge paranoia of spies that it kept clans from recruiting new players. The veterans need to either step up or new players will continue to pay the price, at the cost of the entire nation's reputation. It happened to the US and it will happen to GB next if they don't nip this in the bud now.

I think a fair alternative for capital ports would be to remove the tax on them in order to promote more lucrative trading, but even then trading is still dead.

Ignoring or running away from the problem of the biggest national capital on the server doesn't fix it. KPR is a farm where you go to collect PvP marks and even reinforcement zone wouldn't fix that, just made other things worse.

And actually what is a safe place since the wipe... so here is how my day went after the final exam.... and I regret spend money on the le herm actually because geeze I really think hard about playing how it went today... so figured I take the le herm to sail to belize and make an outpost, want to get to port morant to get cannons because none at kpr... and got sunk on the way to kpr by two french, I of cause no updates no captain skill nothing... ok dlc lost fine, finally made it to another area ages away... 2nd try went hunting in a herc, well some people apparently where faster in leveling and I bumped into a ratt and another herc and I had to battle the ai ship... of cause got sunk again... well still dlcs left... again complete different area... pandora in a battle with an ai ship and a herc jumped in... guess how that ended... I rarely gut sunk before the wipe but now its hello kittying insane... sooo now i am in a port at the edge of the world with no repairs there because well they wiped the infrastructure... awesome... and I dont want to know how people without dlcs feel... you made a few realms bought a ship and boom... They really should have protected zones again where people can actually level up and gain ship skills...  This wipe turned it into complete bullshit!

You get sunk more because there are more people nothing has changed the wipe has done nothing new.

So my point that the wipe has nothing changed unliked the developers hoped right ? and it actually made it harder to recover

Sounds like OP needs a clan to show him the ropes but who could suffer this amount of whining?

Recover from what? No one robbed you the game was wiped everyone is grinding and playing the game. Thats the game. On top of that for the moment atleast there is also players playing the game enough to where the game can function. So yes the wipe changed the player count but the game itself has not changed. Try to play the game and enjoy yourself. If someone is being mean thats another conversation.

where you undercrewing that Le Herm?   Undergunning it?

Like other said get the freak away from capitals if you can't defend them.  MOst of us all leave the capital and even drop that port.  Though I do agree they should of keep a large safe zone around capitals for new players and casuals.  capitals should never be free gank zones.

They didn't properly protect them cause they where still pretty much gank zones even admin admitted it by calling them gank free zones.   They didn't work cause every time they got changed it was in favor of the gankers not the new players safety.

It was because when there's only 300 people on the server you have no choice but to hit capitals for pvp, now we have 1000+ and we can afford to arrange some protections for the new guys.

That was a bad dev design cause the game should never be made for low pop, every thing should be made for high pop game.  They did it cause the clubbers cried to much and got there ways.  The same guys that refuse to fight each other in OW when they are right next to each other and wonder why they aren't getting any PvP.

exactly why the release was the best decision. Develop for the high end not the low end

Yes, sure.

Veterans should know how it works after a new release. So, if I were in your shoes, I would start discussing about the success of the launch of the game in this status after at least three months have passed after steam summer sale.

Only after some time have passed, in fact, you could check:

- actual (retunring and new) player retention

- actual will of the devs to add content to this game

I won't join the discussion about safe zones, cause it's pointless now. Many suggestions have been made, but few adopted only to be reverted altogether.

The way the game is, it rewards sealclubbing and ganking at minimum risk. You gotta level up, gear up and then you may consider fighting back. No point doing it the other way around.

Exactly what Captain Van Veed said, and I have talked about this before.

from previous patch notes: - "Assists now counts for PVP Hunt missions"

A perfect example of how ganking/sealclubbing is rewarded. It's like saying "- hey, don't attack that ship alone, bring ten ships we get same reward and we can't loose."

Solution was easy but developers did not want to work on it.

Their precious pvp players were unhappy as there was less prey with falling player numbers.

So they could not resist the wolves and opened the farm doors for them.

Rzone being useless is just a lame excuse.

Now they will make the new players run away from the game, developers does not have the vision to understand the consequences.

One final measure can be extending capital zone, but not a generic circle but a custom designed area due to coast shape, giving enough play ground for new players.

Safezone of KPR is much smaller due to position of land and islands compared to for example La Habana, which is at flat coast, giving more area to newbies for hunting 6th rate and time to time 5th rate ai.

So it is not being polite to players. I did half of my pvp, defending KPR noobs when nobody cared for them. It is difficult to defend new guys as they will do weird things and this job is a no reward job, time consuming. Even 90% of pvp guys being good to newbies, 10% can do excessive farming. Licinio Chiavari and his friends were farming hundreds at KPR with le cancer. So same is being done just look at combat news.

It is developers job to sort this out, which they did not, they do not. One thing they miss out, after port bonus and rare wood farms pvp was everywhere, so our great streamers do not need to farm capitals! @admin

Make capital zones bigger for new players or we are back to 500 players in a short time.

This may come as a surprise to some people, but there ARE capital zones! 😲

A player is 100% protected in their capital zone, AI sail into capital zones, loot tables are normal in capital zones. There is really no reason a player could not live in their capital zone. It should really be common practice not to sail out of a capital zone with out being prepared for pvp.
