Are there any plans in the future to introduce fog into the game? Just thinking how cool it would be to have ships disappearing into the fog or seeing the fog lit up with cannon fire...a la Master and Commander.

Or any other weather elements, such as light airs where some ships are catching slight puffs of wind and others are maning the boats to maneuver by oar. The Constitution escaped capture this way the first time she went out. Probably something like this would be pretty far down the development road, as it would require launching boats, that would be vulnerable to enemy fire. Fog shouldn't be too hard to introduce, though. The storm scenarios are pretty good so far, but I think there needs to be more sail handling (reefing) and hull rolling in beam seas.

I would love to see this as well, especially with the open world, parts of the world turning into different weathers. Sunny, Cloudy, Windy, Rainy, Stormy(bigger waves), Foggy. All of it would add some form of new challenges to the combat.

Obviously they couldn't add huge waves, but having bigger waves where your ship is rocking back and forth, or pitching up and down at higher angles could cause shots to go wild, or more difficult to aim, rainy weather could cause a drop in visibility, as well as foggy.

Could you imagine day/night cycles as well? Suns setting, clouds are overcast, it's getting very dark and in the distance you see a fleet of 10 ships on the horizon as the wind picks up.. Heck to the yes..

I certainly hope we get fog and other weather effects. Weather in general is so integral to the naval setting of the game. How can you have a sailing game without great weather effects?
