captain smile Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 We have a serius drop of players half are going to the most powerfull side (Russian NN ) and half stop playing. In French Nation we have a group of experienced players we can make Port battles or PVP beetween us ,but we are really concerned about new players , cause we cant make them appreciate the game as much as we did because there is no way to get out of Fort Royal or any other port (cause of the russian altsĀ > Charlemagne and Fritz Haber some of them have 7 alts ... ). We like to teach new players , but new players dont stay, and we cant defend them all day long, i dont know how its happened for other nations but we want new payers but if they cant do nothing cause they get ganged 10vs1 in a pandora every day 5 times/day they they dont stay and we do not have remplacement . 11
bourdonnais Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 True. Won't play this game anymore in such ganking conditions. This would be the same for new players, they will try and they will quit. Toxic behaviours will kill this game. As Des Moines use to do as others NN. š§ Poor game, sry dev. Ā 1
captain smile Posted May 30, 2019 Author Posted May 30, 2019 Maybe the back of the R zones ? Much smaller that before but better that nothing I guess . Cause now the French Nation became much more hardcore that the Russian xD 1
shunt Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 GB has simialar problems but we have russian, pirate , prussian swede french ,,, and sometimes even dutch and danes ,, camping KPR . Ā 7
Teutonic Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 with announcement of release within 30 days, most players are taking a break now - could be a factor for it. Some players prefer other nations or groups - it's just the normal cycle. We could always rise together and defeat a common foe...right?Ā 2
LegoLarry Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Is not problem of one nation, is problem for whole game. Some care nothing for game community to grow, more with ego and name in PvP list. Nothing player can do is dev problem. 8
Kejsaren Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Don't see any drastic changes before launch, and in regards to playerbase we just have to "brace for impact" and see how it goes I guess. Ā Ā Ā

Vizzini Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Nobody in their right mind would think about returning right now with a probably complete wipe on the horizion. In much the same way a leaked steam sale date around the same time would put me off a purchase at the games current price point Ā With regards to players getting ganked, it will always be so. If the French got out of their own harbour, they would probably do the same to others. Until we get a clear message about whether every single thing gets wiped or not, there will be a general lack of interest Ā IMHO a full complete wipe is coming, or we would have been told differently already. 30 days to go and no decision has been made ? Unlikely ...
Ferdinand de LaSalle Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 The Problem of the game balance is still enorm: I agree with captain smile We have the following central Problems: The trading system do not really work. The 100 to rule do not work. The earn ratio is to low and after wipe you have no load space to transport remarkable goods, so every nation needs 4 or 5 goodsĀ with lower tons, who allows to get acceptable earn ratio over shorter distances The battle rating system for Port battles and outside port battles do not work. The Attacker has all advantages on his side, even if he used high skilled crews and golden and purple ships. It is total unrealistic to do farming and camping actions in front of enemy capitals, and the defending forces could do little things. A return to old BR-System and for example a smaller safe zone could help Ā The increase of AltĀ“s leads to unplayable situations the, enemy nations around french nation are able to control all actions to all timepoint. A limitation to alts (e.g. 3) could help Ā The Port Management do not work, because the costs to buildt up a infrastructure is much to high. After wipe only few nations with a lot of DLC-Players are able to speed up the conquest and the development, the others are not in a competitive situation Ā The actual rank system is a horror for the newbees and partly to the older guys. You need minimum a year (with intense playing) to reach a acceptable rank. But this could only work if you are not under pressure by more succesful nations. A better clan organisation could help but finally you also need here a lot of DLC-guys in your clan. If you not haveā¦blub, blub There are more Problems, but These are the biggist Greeting Ferdinand de LaSalle 1

Aster Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 If the concern is new players. Why not stick new players in their own special zone? I have suggested it before but make a shallow zone in the cove area near panama on the Pacific side. Give each of the standard nations a port in the area where they start like the old bahamas zone.(Not impossible ones as they can be a way to skip noob zone). Once a player completes the tutorial or reaches the rank equal to that they will have the option to be moved out of the noob zone and play the game as normal. Ā Now all that being said. I find the port bonus system very worrying. I fear that once a nation losses their only 45-55 point crafting port much of the nation will just die. A non port bonus ship is largely worthless in the current system. 8

Angus MacDuff Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 I think that it is highly unlikely at this point in time that the Devs will start thinking about a starting zone for noobs.Ā The only way that new players will be protected is if the respective veteran national players talk to them and show them where they can pve in relative safety.Ā I personally think that all new players should be encouraged to start out on the Peace server until they feel comfortable with moving over to the War server.Ā That's how I started out and it worked well for me.Ā I still got mercilessly ganked when I switched over, but at least I had a basic understanding of the game and could figure out what I was doing wrong.Ā Ā 4
