And just fight regular own tier ships. Im at work so can't watch the vidwo well but i can already see that player is using the kiting bug. NPC is known to have hard time to calculate trajectory to full speed ship at range so it will miss 95% of shots to the stern. Using this is in my opinion is not really the way it should work. But yeah this way NPC is quite easy to kill... But super booring too. This is alsomuch easier on lineship with hit alot health it, wau harder on essex example. maybe new players should not try to do group missions alone and if you don't what to use the best ship for the job then your choosing you handicap your self, it would be like bringing fir/fir ship and demanding ai is made easier so you can kill them, im pretty sure that's a live oak white oak bellona with cata and navy structure bringing it to about 100 thickness so he can bounce as much as possible. and you need to run from them if you want to survive there is no way you could go in and brawl down 2 first rates and 3 rate, the best advantage we have other ai is that we can control the fight and plan what to do where they have to react to what we choose we do. i have tried to kill a first rate in teak/teak bellona with some boarding mods on it and i had to kill some of its crew first before i could board it and suddenly i was reacting to what the ai is doing and the ai can do some crazy shit in this game, abused firing angles and turn rate and when i lost my mast i had to get out to safe my ship. it come down to this, you play to your best strength or you play in to the ai's. the trinc would be a better choice the a essex because it has more thickness
Capsize More Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 It's all about angles, wind guage, and timing. Plenty of folks can beat a higher class ship then thiers, bot or player alike.

Take Cerberus and fight against another Cerb whitout "kiting" it. You are forced to board or demast and stern camp. There is no options to try and out manuver and "brawl" NPCs in any realistic way. You simply need to abuse the AI's known weakness. Everyone keeps Kiting them and calling it too easy... Stop kiting them then FFS! Then you will find your "challange". Im sick of ppl calling NPC Easy when they use the kiting method. Edited May 24, 2019 by James Thomson 1

Go and see if you can do that whitout dying. Good luck. Edit: As Rune stated btw AI will always aim to the ship stern, thats why they keep missing all those broadsides. AI always aims to the weakest part of the ship. Edit2: I had Finally time to watch the whole video, Azu is Captaining that Bellona marvelously. TIp hat for you Sir! However, i can't understand the NPC here. They keep missing him like 90% time? @Rune do you have speed mods on that Bellona? Are they maybe messing up how the AI tryes to calculate trajectory. Can you Reproduce these NPC missing shot conditions whitout them or in mid tier frigate like Surprise maybe? Im Trying to do so in my Aga but canno't do so. Only few times AI will miss me by the stern when turning to him while angling. Edited May 24, 2019 by James Thomson 2
