One-Eyed Willy Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 I haven't played in a while & just recently started playing a bit again. I've been playing on the PvE server & have been joining the port battles & open world battles when I see them. Well today I joined one & got a angry message to me telling to gtfo out of their battle. Did I break some unwritten rule of etiquette by clicking on the crossed-swords/join battle icon?
Macjimm Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 Willy, Take it easy on yourself. There are lots of nice people in this community. Enjoy and don't worry. There are also way too many fussy gamers that expect that everyone is born knowing their "rules". When some spoiled brat is raging at you, saying everyone should just know what he thinks is right, because it is 'common sense', take comfort that it is his problem, .... not yours. Too bad we can't ignore (mute) players in battle. Perhaps someday the devs will fix it.

On the Peace (PvE) server, the first human player entering/creating an OW battle should be able to close this battle whenever he wants or let it open for others to join. (On the PvE server, I for one never join someone else's PvE fight and rarely see someone joining mine. Maybe a 'rule of etiquette'. However, it wouldn't allow insults and an amicable solution must be found) 1

You really shouldn't join port battles without clan's permission or unless you get the okay that it's a free for all. Edited May 13, 2019 by Gregory Rainsborough

Not saying you would do that, btw. When I am in a battle that I have under control or where I want all the kills (goes towards my mission), I prefer not to be helped. Indeed, if you join my battle, you may increase the BR difference so that opponents can now join when they couldn't before. I will normally ask you to not interfere, so i'm sorry you encountered rudeness. In a PB or large battle, there is nothing worse than "friendlies" who are not in comms and have no experience (but lots of enthusiasm). They add chaos to the battle and usually end up colliding with other players and blocking shots. If you see a battle where you think to can help, first consider if it will put the BR in such a place that enemy reinforcements can now join. It would also be polite to ask (once you are in) if they want help and leave if they ask you to.
