all good points
will be done. Only rare ships (that we want to be rare like Christian, Endymion or Niagara or Santisima) should stay with permits. The permits as sinks are detrimental and counterproductive. There must be good counters freely available like Agamemnon vs Rattvisan

@adminThis is very good to see, I am in favor of a hand full of reward permits... most ships should be easily craftable at most players fingertips except the line ships. I think most 5th rates should not require a permit if the 5th rate mounts anything smaller than a 24 pound gun. Any ship that mounts a 24 pound or larger gun on its lower most gun deck should require a permit in my opinion,.

But if you were to leave just say 4 or 5 specific ships as special combat rewards then that would be really cool. Just need to keep the bulk of the light frigate/privateering navy available to anyone that would wish to craft these small and fast ships. Heavy frigates(24 pound) and line ships could still require permits. In my book this would be ok.

Why not make them DLC ships instead then? Or make all DLC ships available by rare permits?

@adminThis is interesting... this woul also make a lot of players happy that they could run a chance at getting a one time use version of a said DLC ship... it would also help to advertise the DLCs a little too.

Permits will be updated next patch. Do not spend marks or VMs on permits meanwhile.

The following changes will be applied

  • Only 10 ships will remain rare (we want them to be rare and precious), some performance stats for those vessels will be improved (especially rattles, niagara and constitution)
    • Santisima
    • Christian
    • Bellona
    • Constitution
    • Endymion
    • Renommee
    • Rattlesnake
    • Rattlesnake heavy
    • Niagara
  • All other vessels will lose permit requirements and will be crafteable
  • Rare permits will be added to Gold and Silver chests so you can have a chance to earn them in PVE activities.
  • PvP Admiral chest and Captain chest will have a 100% drop chance for one of the rare permits
    • Admiral chest: line ships + 4th rates
    • Captain chest: lightships frigates + 4th rates
  • In addition to that (long overdue) the following ship notes will be added to the admiralty for combat medals for captains who wish to get those ships by in game means. (Prices are not final and might get adapted).
    • Rattvisan - 300 cm
    • L'Hermione - 200 cm
    • Hercules - 150 cm
    • Le Requin - 150 cm

I would like ask how about the LGV Refit, it will be craftable as well?

Verrrry interesting!  I notice that the Pandora is not on this list.  Intentional as it was a gift to testers?  Also, we still don't know where LGVR (and jimmy Hoffa) has disappeared to.  Very good decision, I must say.

Great + 4Th rate, what do you mean, a rare 4th? they is none in your list, or a permit to craft a 4th that you actually don´t need permit for dixit yourself?

Nice but you need very high prices for the dlc ships.

Rare ships... meaning when you're a casual, you can't even sail a Rattle or a Renommée !

You bought a ship as DLC and then everybody hardcore gamers can have her in game for free... Very rewarding to buy ship DLCs...

Focus on hardcore gamers who can spend H24 in game and clans...

@admin Why both rattlesnakes? And is the 10th ship a mystery...possibly new ship? :)

Also, I like the idea of "premium ships" being purchasable with an in-game currency. It's like in WoT, you can just buy premium tanks or do in-game activities to get cold to buy the tanks. Perhaps, these premium ships should cost VMs and CMs to make it fit like WoT Clan Wars/Tournaments?

I would assume craftable DLC have only one life, while bought DLC is repeatably redeemable....

Will those 'note'-ships be capturable? As they are not dlc ... they should be capturable? (But how will we see the difference?)

Thats just a note with 1 durability  - for test drive, or quick action if you really really need that ship now (and do not have DLC)..
it does remove some concerns about them only available for hard cash. You can get them in game too.

As a DLC owner I don't object...as long as the price is high in CM's.

Indefatigable

Will all the British ships be getting HMS added to their names and the US ships getting USS added to match the USS United States?

Still to farm 150 combat marks just for hercules is incredible amount of time … Is the amount of combat marks we getting for missions/battles/PZ final or its possible it will get adjusted ?

Just use  Surprise instead? or a Pandora? ofc DLC Ships are not easy to get without the DLC. Why woud they be DLC otherwise? Its fine as it is with this announcement.
