I would love to be able to throw down the gauntlet to a specific enemy player. When doing so, the enemy can accept it. When accepted both players can duel in OW. It's like solo PVP zone but only for 2 specific players. They both get an outer circle (where they cannot be attacked, so we avoid other enemies lurking there to cap the duelist) and an inner circle where both meet to duel. What to ponder is whether the ship type is free or whether the challenger can choose the rate of the ship for both. The circle vanishes after an hour. This should be enough time to get there.

Clarification: it's like a friends invite, so this can be done no matter in which port the player or the opponent are. You only have to know the ingame name of the specific player. So you can easily setup a revenge scenario.

The duelrooms are not liked by community. They complained it draws away traffic from OW. I can understand this point but dueling to get revenge for a defeat would fit perfectly in the era and be a nice additional feature.

That's exactly the opposite of reality.

The community loved duel rooms, small, and large battles. They made training up new players, testing builds, and getting better at PvP a much more manageable affair. It was the dev's that didn't want to maintain them because they were handwringing at the time trying to prop up server populations and were also removing any extra work they would incur during the UI rework/localization efforts.  Clearly the removal of them failed and left us with even less content than we had before and we still have plenty of people asking for their return.

OW duel feature would be nice, but need a 2 min counter like log out so it is not exploited to escape chasing enemies.

No risk = no reward. No loss = no win. Practice was very good to practice and test ships, upgrades and battle tactics. That I miss, but the point of NA in OW conquer, so it it stops players from leaving docks, then it is not good for the game imo.
