Ligatorswe Posted March 16, 2019 Posted March 16, 2019 (edited) I have two laptops. On my main one sandboxie runs smooth. I dont even follow the recommendation to create a separate folder for sandboxie-steam. (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=311943358 ) Never any problems. But on my second one all is f*cked up. I tried both without creating myself a second folder, and letting sandboxie take care of it, to no avail. I can open Steam and even start Naval Action. But then it gets All f*cked up. I get stuck when NA is just about to log in, at "connecting to Steam". And I wont log in. Thus sandboxie does not function. I dont know what to do, has anyone else ran into this problem. What to do now? (I dont know where to post this question. But since alts are so common in the game i think this is an appropriate place to post it on.) Edited March 16, 2019 by Ligatorswe

On my other computer and in another computer I have used there has been 0 problems. All i do ever is open sandboxie, open steam (the one and only steam.exe that I have) and log in. Apparently it works in another way for many. When i google i find that people copy folders and .exe and talk about files in sandboxie and complex solutions that only give me headache.
Ligatorswe Posted March 17, 2019 Author Posted March 17, 2019 (edited) Cleint.exe does not answer when i try to log in on my alt account. Now i tried reinstallations, even taking away some files that were not erased in the normal reinstallation. I tried restriction settings, (drop rights should be unchecked) and made sure that all programs are allowed. Something allows me to run Steam and NA but not logging in to my account when I am using an alt in sandboxie. Edited March 17, 2019 by Ligatorswe
Ligatorswe Posted March 17, 2019 Author Posted March 17, 2019 (edited) SOLVED! A fix for those that end up in the same situation. Something was wrong with the first installation. I tried to deinstall it via the windows 10 app client. It did not remove all files. Under C/Programfiles some still remained. I had to remove them manually. One was difficult to remove (sandboxie helper) and remained hidden in the folder after the deinstallation. Run everything, installations and deinstallations as admin. Make sure that nothing remains in C:programfiles then it works. And look at the tips about droprights that apparently has helped one in the game and that I found had helped people when i searched google. Edited March 17, 2019 by Ligatorswe 1
Ligatorswe Posted April 11, 2019 Author Posted April 11, 2019 So, I had to reinstall the sandboxie. It suddenly stopped functioning yesterday. WTF! And now I am back to the same damned problem. 1
Ligatorswe Posted April 11, 2019 Author Posted April 11, 2019 Ok I moved NA and Sandboxie to D, and it worked. So my current setup with NA and Sandboxie on C (SSD) and Steam on C does apparently not work. So I have been forced to take Naval Action off C and the SSd for a while and back to D. But to reinstall NA was a mess. It seems like Sandboxie works differently ebery time i install it and I have to do differently to make it work. 1
