Guest Posted March 3, 2019 Posted March 3, 2019 @admin To begin with i love the new damage model, the damage of the first rates feels great aswell as the other sols. The problem we face now is why should anyone prefer a bellona and connie over 1x l'ocean in a pb, thinking of how to balance it i wouldnt touch the hp or damage, but i would look at the turn rate on these slugs. Making it having a first rate in a fleet a great option, but sailing it alone could be dangerous because you would be easily outmanouvered. I feel is the way to go, so i would suggest to decrease the turn rate on the 1st rates, and maybe even the heaviest 2nd rates abit so tacking in a first rate could be a terrible decision, but if you have some in the fleet they are great artillery platforms
Hullabaloo Posted March 3, 2019 Posted March 3, 2019 Yeah, I don't hate the new damage model, but it seems to me that an entire ship re-balance pass is going to be needed again now. 2
van der Clam Posted March 3, 2019 Posted March 3, 2019 I completely agree with the OP. They don't need a huge adjustment, max maybe a 10% turn drop. On the flip side, the Pirate Frig needs a boost. It feels like a log compared to the Frig. This new model allows for much easier mini-tweaking that won't be so drastic. If you remember before the last major damage patch, they were making tweaks of 1000% for certain things that would mess other things up. So, if we just keep reporting each ship's issues, they can make the slight adjustments to those parameters much easier and faster. 1
z4ys Posted March 3, 2019 Posted March 3, 2019 compared to all ships small ships especially fore and aft one turn now worse than square rigger 1
Teutonic Posted March 3, 2019 Posted March 3, 2019 I'd further input that all lineships should have a base speed nerf, with 1st getting a heavier speed drop. 6
