You don't find balance in the extremes. Ganking is a design choice, don't get so caught up in the notion of a sandbox that you forget the idea of a themepark.

Another consequence of this patch: as lost ship replacement turns to be impossible atm, leaving capital areas turns to be highly not advisable. Gank fleets are even more the rule than previously (no one wants to take any risk). Going to the 1v1 area is impossible. You will be ganked far before being in, by players searching isolated targets to get their lovely 8v1.

I did not get a single fight during the weekend with BR ratio high/low below 2.

Extreme grind, overpriced ships and crafting, PvP marks return (aka Combat Medals the new game poisonning), useless and boring trading if you don't have ALTs....very pessimistic for now...

Seriously the new system is good before the gold/ real was really to easy to grind!!

I have made 350 millions gold a week (before the new ui) and after that I was able to make up to 10 millions real in a morning ( 0700-1100) 

and yes all of this with 1 account 

I really think that player should stop crying about the new changes and overcome this new difficulties!!!!

PS: don’t tell me that you clan have have no real you guys have some good money making port!!!!!

With new damage - xp is now doubled (will need to be tuned) so this statement is incorrect (and we know for sure that some players can reach top rank in just a week)
Overpriced ships is also partially incorrect - as both LH and materials for all ships below 3rd rates were lowered. Ships are cheaper now than before (considering all elements including LH). Lineships are more expensive but even them got lower LH. (8 days before vs 4 days now)
It was never easier to craft with loads of goods available in buildings 

Belle poule - a good workhorse - cost is just 13000 reals and you can craft 5 more of them per day than before (2.4 days vs 0.49 days in lh).

An oak/oak Belle Poule, probably... And nothing for sale from admiralty above the 7th rate...

Sir, ship replacement is a concern.

The price for mine / forest exploitation was doubled or multiplied by 3. Turning crafting to be ruining players.

i see 1 big problem. the guys with the most time sail very fast teak/live oak white oak ships and you cant sink that guys with a oak oak ship. 

 

the best it too make only Teak, Live oak and white oak rare.

 

make the other woods craftable. you can fight with caguairan against a live oak ship. problem solved

My general conclusion is Naval Action is especially designed for unemployed or retired singles.

They can play for 7:00 to 11:00 to earn reals. They can go to the max rang in just a week. Morning to get reals, afternoon to get doubloons (transport missions), evening to gank

This is going to become a major dissatisfier in the near future.  Why would I build a second class ship when other players, who have steady access to the best woods, are building the highest quality?  I was actually told on Global chat last night that I need to accept that we won't all have the best quality of woods and I should understand that woods are over-stated. This makes for a very unhappy player base, when there is a two-tier system.  What I truly don't understand is why this stuff has to be rare??  Wouldn't plenty for all put more people out in the  OW?

yes but you make a game for all off us.

please make only live oak, teak and white oak very rare. i dont have time to farm 50k doubloons. i m not fighting with a oak oak ship after a few weeks against teak white ships. i  m sure that the most guys will stop playing.

the next problem is that nobday will fight for the sabicu etc. ports. every clan will take the live oak , teak and white oak ports.

Very fast live/white is an outlier. You can still sail away from that dude in your "shitty" oak ship.

Having said that I don't support the large span from fir/fir to live/white + books and mods.

you can always bypass the grind with dlc's , don't even have to do anything other than vend them if you're short of time or reals

 

thinking you're entitled to everything everybody else has ....

 

I would however have more ports with the rarer resources , they can still be fought over. They should not however dish out welfare teak to everybody who calls by with a begging bowl

 

Some of you will be in for a very rude awakening when we actually start with zero reals , no resources ,no xp and  no ships

All other characteristics being equal, a teak / white oak ship is 3% faster than a oak/oak. Impossible to run. The poorly designed ship will have to fight. So exiting!

This is exactly what the problem will be.  The mindset that "the teak is mine...beg or do without!"  I never said free rare woods for everyone.  All i'm proposing is that all players should be able to buy it and there should be more options to do so.  The port taxes will reward the owning clan.  You want players to build ships and they won't do it as much if they only have access to 2nd class mats.  Human nature is a tricky thing and giving players any kind of power over other players is an incredible mistake.

Ye, ok, I will struggle with getting ships to the PZ ports, though. Solo patrol is fantastic and I won't care much if I can't powergrind fast to RA, but I lose ships faster than I can craft, tow, buy and sail ships and guns here.

Imagine the content I can provide to solo zoners and ingress/egress gankers if ships and guns aren't a struggle! :P

Two more surps and I'm out of Shroud ships. I bet it'll be fun feeding Mercuries to carro Niagaras, eh? I'll frikkin' do that just to spite you all! <hides>

And that's actually the problem ... a game must retain players (new and old) not scaring them off due to the fact that each and every game mechanic is being tailored to fit with just a way of playing the game.

Seriously, I have the way out this poorly designed patch.  I have alts enough to always have the right to move to nations controlling the "good" ports, plus an afk alt for trade, and another for fun.

Life is wonderful!
