Selling goods far from the purchase place will make more money (buying something in Trinidad and selling it in the gulf will make a lot of money

  • This of course means that short distance routes will no longer make too much money

Dynamic pricing with demand/supply evaluation would have been a lot better. Sounds like a second best solution to enforce a certain player behaviour, so not sure this will work out, but let's try.

What is different to previous system? To me it sounds like it is what we already have.

Not quite understood what the RNG spawn of rare woods has to do with clans. Is it linked to the clan owning that port?

Right - what I'm saying is that I didn't get any combat medals for it.  Not sure if a bug, or intentional.

pvp missions (take a pvp hunt mission - it will be a good start). We might add them for kills later but pvp hunt mission avoids the farming as it is requiring UNIQUE kills (based on Steam ID)

I did :)  So - right now, Combat Medals are only issued through missions?  Would it be possible to have them issued through individual kills as well?  (That way the reward comes more spread out instead of coming in 10 ship lumps when you turn in a mission).

In the solo patrol zone you can only be attacked by the ship of the same class - Give example.

Sextant only for new accounts? = What about existing? @admin

if you start a new account you get the sextant perk. if you reset you will have to take it again or stay without it
existing accounts can decide themselves. some have it some don't.
basically we take sextant for new players for them making it easier for them.

for solo patrol
if you are in a 4th rate - only 4th rates can attack you if you are located in the solo patrol area (indicated above your compass)
you can also only attack 4th rates. But as feature is new - expect bugs

@admin do the new ROE apply if you are the ATTACKER?   I.e— tag in small ship and pile in for 20 mins?

edit:  and do they constantly adjust when new ships enter the battle?

At this state yes. if your BR allows you to attack the target if you attack a stronger target you might get reinforcements.
BR will be readjusted until battle closes or BR evens out (also closing the battle), generating more pvp opportunities around hotspots.
This will also significantly change (and we hope improves) screening. As the support can come and completely reverse the screening action.

Should there be a point where a "close" BR should not be overtipped by something significantly larger?  For example, a 250BR v. 280BR being overtipped by a ship of the line.

I don't understand the rare wood mechanics.

I happen to have an op in a port on PvE server that dops ? (used to drop ?) life oak.

When I visited it, i found a clan mission: bring 75K dubs and you get 5K life oak (?)

So how is one supposed as solo player on PvE to get life oak ?

Will it still drop and can I still place contracts for it sucessfully ?

From a PvE PoV: if it were available for clans only at that rate of 75K dubs /5K life oak, you kissed PvE server goodbye....

( Sailing a 4/5 or 5/5  lo/wo 1st rate  is  the "endgame" on PvE server)

Other question:  Should solo PvP zone be inside the group PvP zone?  Seems that you'd need to brave the gank gauntlet before hitting a 1v1, when maybe it should be the other way around.

I don't understand why they don't have two different locations going every day, one for group, and one for solo. Why even tie the two together, at all?

@admin  please change the position of Hit Indicator were the "shallow" warning is, in combat will be very helpfull, cause now is distracting and annoying
the size is good if you put near where the Eye is looking, but not a small dot on top of the screen.

thanks!!! this patch looks nice!!

Please explain clan delivery missions. I dont get it.

live oak is now sold only in 1 port (in florida)

  • But live oak forests also can grow in other ports (capturable ports).
  • These forests can be cut down by clans and clans on their friend list.
  • They pay the port doubloons and get resources in return in 24 hours.

Clans that want these resources will have to fight for them on the War server
On the Peace server - these resources will be sold in the admiralty.

but is for gameplay purposes more than beauty one, imo.
but if you think is good there, increase the size of it... is too small ( at least in a ultrawide screen) i didnt even notice i hit the ship without take away my eyes off the battle...

Just to clarify what you mean.

So 1 port in florida grows live oak forever.

But "some" ports that can be captured have the ability to grow limited amounts of live oak at a time for a fee. We just have to find these ports.

Am i understanding this correctly?

I couldn't be more excited about the trading/economy updates. Amazing work. Can't wait to dive in. This will be loads of fun.

I am cautiously optamistic about the mission changes, especially the SOLO patrol zones. This could be a very interesting development. Though I still maintain that any battle anywhere on the map should have the option of enabling such duel-style rules if both sides agree at the onset of the battle.

On the flip side, I couldn't be more put-off and disgusted by the attempt to 'balance' open-world pvp battles by using BR to determine who can and cannot enter the battle for what side. Hacky cry-baby-appeasing gimmicks like this have no place in primary open-world gameplay. Such things should be limited to patrol zones, missions, practice simulations, or other games like NA Legends where strategy, planning, and (lets face it) sometimes even luck are not half of the fun of the game.

Changes to rare woods spawns and access

  • Rare woods resources now only have limited trading spawns in the Carribean.
  • Rare woods forests can now randomly spawn somewhere in the Caribbean in limited quantities. (can be fully exhausted)
  • These rare woods now can be received by clans using delivery missions
  • Сlans and clans on their allies list have access to these missions
  • Getting rare woods by using missions reduces their supply. One supply is fully cut down the forest will spawn elsewhere in another port.
  • Rare woods are: Live oak, white oak, bermuda cedar, teak, mahogany, caguarian, sabicu.

Is a captain still able to put buy contracts on rare woods at their limited trading spawns? (not the random ones)

Someone mentioned 75k doubloons for 5k L/O as a clan mission. Is this a good indicator of a standard delivery mission? If yes would it not be prohibitively expensive for a lone noob like me to get access to rare woods?
