I know how it works. I just don't like this new way since it kind of excludes one type of players.

Before, you could stack up your standard trade runs with letter deliveries which would grant you doubloons from the missions, and reals from the regular trade. Optimization at its finest. Now you have to dedicate time to this one very time consuming and unrewarding activity from a gameplay perspective OR invest massive amount of time hunting fleet.

If you reduced your game time to healthier levels, you are screwed. Was it really that hard to tune down letter deliveries?

Crafting, mostly. And part of it went into rare woods since those were not available through clan missions for the PvE peasants we are. Before the update I was able to craft extensively witout suffering much from doubloons cost.

Again, I am fairly certain that hardcore players (those who can invest more than 4h per day in this game) have no problem whatsoever. And if that's the games direction : so be it. Still sharing my opinion on the question as that's why this thread exists.

As someone who has never had more dubs than 20k: I understand.
