That is if they ever come back to France. You don’t see large groups of French camping Jamaica or Charlestown. That would explain the low stats. We can’t even gather 8 players regularly to fight Swedes camping in front of Fort Royal. Anyway, it seems he was right about the suspected alt farmer, as admin is taking action against it. You should thank him instead Back on topic, I wasn’t aware those PvP mission implied sinking 10 different or unique captains. Sinking the same player twice can also happen via legitimate means, but whatever needs to be done to prevent the alt farming is fine with me. Edited April 23, 2019 by Serk

Zlatkowar Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 There's one thing about combat mechanism that is unrealistic AF. It's nothing new, it has been there for a while and I have just learned to live with it and be careful about it. A friend of mine in an undercrewed USS (Post Captain) fought an AI USS. He did well, and at the end of the fight, while the enemy ship was sinking, he got closer to prepare for looting. And of course, AI boarded him, which in turn stopped the sinking mechanism until the boarding was over. Sad way to lose a purple ship, especially when you fought well. I tend to think that first AI should not be boarding ready when it's sinking, and then if you manage to defend yourself long enough till it sinks you should be able to make it out alive... What is the purpose of stopping the sinking mechanism when boarding starts? 2
Sparkydog Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 If you are a captain of a sinking ship-it seems like it would be a good idea to grapple a nearby enemy and lash yourself to him. Ideally you would cap him and live vs going down with your ship? Then you cut away the sinking ship and sail off to the nearest port tavern and celebrate.

angriff Posted April 30, 2019 Posted April 30, 2019 There is a big problem with this server in the instance. Friendly players will warp towards other friendly entering about 200 yards. Having a broadside loaded and aiming when other player suddenly entered. The player being aimed at suddenly moves to the opposite side about 200 yards off.

But it is still quite easy to predict what enemy is doing when you see the numbers and morale usage of your enemy. I can still bretty much do with same efficency than before, capture by rage boarding. You need to hide more of the indicators. Also AI is still using its routine commands, if one has learned the AIs skill predictment its quite easy to board and attack/brace/attack still. Edited May 6, 2019 by James Thomson 2

But consider this for a sec : Out of the 6 potential players that bought your game, we were down to 2 players, and finally, I'm again the only one left. Out of 6 people. Now imagine the same on a wider scale. Imagine if those complaints were heard, confirmed, taken care of... Imagine if you left some space for other play styles? Something tells me that the pop could be triple of what it currently is. But maybe that's not what you are looking for. Either way. It would be great if you could get a competent community manager to drive this small community with, say, regular updates on heated topics.

To fire brackets during a boarding or not to. Personally, imo, we should have been able to turn off survival a long time ago. And imo, we should have a scuttle option.
