VirtuallyIdiotic Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 (edited) Just a list of things I would like to see appear in Naval Action before going beyond Early Access officially or shortly after the games full release onto Steam. @admin Music: I do not care if it is a full album, just a few tracks, or even just one song. Heck, my Victoria II game was bugged where it would only loop this song and I still till the world war: You do not need to make anything extravagant. Music is vital element to any media. Star Wars would hold a different meaning without the brilliant work of John Williams and Halo opening would not be as remembered without its iconic choir. Plus, as the great Ricky from the Trailer Park once said "I love all creatures like gophers and deerts, and those things that fly and everything else, but **** seagulls. I got no time for those ***********." I am just sick of hearing the damn gulls bawking away. Content Variation: What we have currently for content works well for the type of MMO that you are producing but could be great. There needs to be a break in the mundane processes that much of the content available makes you go through and introduce some variation. Rather than have us the players continuously work towards the same objectives over and over again just either make the end result different on occasion or introduce something new even if it is only temporary. This is so you can maintain interest of your consumer for a longer time period rather than them get bored and leave and jump onto another game until the interest arises once more for Naval Action or never return again. Decently Priced Cosmetics: I am one that is fine with DLC content. Even the ships people have been or have cried about I have been okay with. The one thing though DLC's should be used for is simple cosmetic items, preferably ones that are in the game but you can purchase through a DLC if you do not want to sit and earn it through drops or chests. But the pricing has to be right. The pricing was the one thing that absolutely upset me about the flag DLC. Just felt like I was robbed and I know others did too mainly for the lack of content it provided based upon what the flags contributed to the overall game and for which nation they played for. Pricing for cosmetics needs to improve. UI Chat and Map Tool: You have already created a UI design. Yet the two items you never touched with it are some that just clash and look atrocious with the overall UI and feels as if incomplete and out of place with the overall look of the game. Just implement the UI you have already designed to the map tools and chat window and everything will be great. Continuation of Adding Ships: Do not stop adding ships. You have a core and hopefully at release grow upon that. Adding in new ships will help expand upon the experience for both the core and newcomers as well show you still have commitment to the game rather than release and leave, breaks down some staleness that occurs when you see the same few ships constantly, and if you continue the voting for ships the community will also feel as if they are contributing to the addition of ships. Definitely add Dutch ships. Those poor buggers have been crying for a few Dutch ships for a while and deservedly so. Do Not Cut and Run: The one thing I would like to see from @admin and his team is similar to what I mentioned above, that you developers do not forget about this game you have created and still help it grow and develop as a game and not just release the game on steam just to move onto the next big project. The community gives you guys a lot of grief. This is with any community of players who have grown to love a game and has just turned into a marriage at this point. I am not someone who is really looking for much honestly. Never have really since I never would consider myself a winner. Just an average bloke so I am not trying to make hard demands or ones that I find to be unreasonable. If they are I would like to hear from you @admin. I must say though I have enjoyed this game. Sure there were some low moments but I cant let that get me down or use those moments to hinder other peoples experience. I knew what I was getting into when I saw the Early Access before I purchased this game. That day I expected a wipe at release. Never a doubt in my mind that would occur. Cannot cry in the mud and be mad things are not fair or not going your way. Nothing productive about that at all. Just have to get back up and continue on marching forward if you want to see progress. All I am focused on is making sure is that when this does get released is that those players do not have to go through the hardships I had to go through during testing out this game I have enjoyed so far. However, I'm not a fan of how the previous poll turned out to be : a competition between nations to get their own ship (Me French want French ship) and a focus on "the bigger, the better" ("Me want 1st Rate"). That's why specialized polls may be interesting : a poll with small ships only,, a poll with Sols only, then a poll with ships from nations that haven't had implemented ones yet (Venice, Portugal...), a poll with traders only... It may also be the time for devs to choose ships by themselves, depending on gaps and their priorities. The last times they did (LRQ, Pandora...), they chose they had good taste. PS : "Let's have more 7th-6th Rates !" (I know, I know : I'm preaching in the desert 🙂) Edited February 28, 2019 by LeBoiteux 1
