mouse of war Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Would be nice if you could rescue the crew of a sinking ship - as happened in real life. This could be for extra points and the saved player friend or enemy could also get some points. The saved crew could also replace your own casualties 4
James Rackham Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Sounds like a good idea, you should also be able to capture enemy crew as prisoners for reward/ransom for the officers etc.
sthorup Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 well i dont think it would make sense to rescue people in the middle of a battle, but in open world i would be all for it. (after the fight was over)
Wicked Mouse Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 well i dont think it would make sense to rescue people in the middle of a battle, but in open world i would be all for it. (after the fight was over) Well when a fight/battle is over it would make sense
Robert Danforth Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Most sailors couldn't swim, so if you don't rescue them right away, you're not going to be rescuing them at all. 1
sthorup Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 well it would be close to suicide to take down your sails and launch boats to rescue people in a battle. It does them no good to be rescued if the rescue ship goes down to.
Robert Danforth Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 The boats were usually towed anyway, which would also make that hard. Sucked to be a sailor in the age of sail.
Felklaw Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Watched a Twitch stream today where the enemy had lost his masts (they even shot off his bowspirit!) and was sitting dead in the water. Another player on his team came up and started pushing him perpendicularly across the battlefield as a slow moving cannon boat! Guess he saved that crew! lol
Mirones Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 a towing ability would come handy in that case too
