jsolo Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 Heya New to the game looking for a US Fleet that doesn't mind having a newbie and willing to teach game. I do learn fast and enjoy PvP and sieges. East Coast Time zone Solo 1
Galt Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 (edited) Lionshaft, a long time american clan leader, is probably your best bet, I am not sure what the US clan leadership looks like but I usually don't hear good things. Many Americans (myself included) play for other nations. I am French, there are many that are British and pirate. If you are looking to get serious and engaged, I would recommend looking at those nations of which Britain is the largest and has a number of organized clans, the PM French PvP crew sleeps until we get some more content, and I think the pirates get into some good OW fights here and there. The Prussians need guys (as do the French.) The Swedes, the Danes, Spanish, Russians, Dutch, and the Poles seem to be mostly European based. Hope this helps. Disclaimer: I get most of my information from what little time I am playing nowadays and what I can piece together on the forums. Edited January 29, 2019 by Galt 1
jsolo Posted January 29, 2019 Author Posted January 29, 2019 If there is no American fleet then love to join a active fleet that I can learn from and PvP

I'm not Prussian but I highly recommend them. Go on global and ask for Aloha officers. Someone will respond. 1

Though, admittedly, the old tutorials should serve you well, not that much has changed with the core mechanics. I also recommend playing through the end game tutorial (only after you go Prussian) which will get you a bit of a head start. I have sailed with and against ALOHA many times, they will be able to teach you well. 1

Eyesore Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 https://forum.game-labs.net/forum/44-guides/ That will get you on your way. Like others have said, some of the info is outdated, but many things/concepts are still the same. Like Koltes' ressurrected post, some things may have changed or lost weight, but most of the approaches/concepts will still apply and form the basis of your tactics/strategies. Iroquois confederacy is also good. Both threads are about solo-play (that is how i learn most, i never win, but i learn ... expect to sink many times and try to figure out what your mistake was). Anolytic recently made a guide on how to beat the exams in tutorial. But again, you probably learn more if you try to find solutions yourself. This : "A treatise on Naval Action: a complete guide - Mr. Doran", might be a bit hard to read, but it is worth it's weight in gold (and then some).

That's where I started but moved on because the US is just a training ground. They are like the red headed step child, they get beat on alot, and not very organized. Learn as much as you can then when the wipe comes, jump to a new nation. Pirates are ok, British are huge, I hear the Prussians are ok. I just came back to the game, but the only thing certain is US feeds other factions experience.
Socialism Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 I suspect that the poster from a thread 3+ months old has probably found a home.
