you laugh but that's generally the right feedback for such a matchup. Try it with a vic v bellona. Remember this all goes in line with ROE, hostile AI and all the other updates planed for the near future. Not to mention all its very easy for a frigate to escape a SOL.

you really think? The damage vallues are insane. To be fair though. Small calibers penetrate now. Its just that you will only ever fire one broadside of them at a bigger ship.

cannon balls were insane and they should be scary in this game, im tired so fire candys in NA. i think dmg is good when u fight same rate ships

Broadside weight and damage cause are not really the same thing anyway. 1st rates would make 5th rates combat ineffective with 1 broadsides in real life for sure but for gameplay sake is just to much.

We'll see when raking damage is adjusted. I think what should come from stern shots more than anything is fires, and those fires should light the canvas above it unless in battle sails.

true but not gg after every broadside. Think about it. Even an aggy is useless in a port battle.

not if u balance costs of this huge ships right? (after a WIPE obviusly)

it doesnt matter. If 1st rates cost 100hour real life hours or 10. The damage is to much. Its insane.

Yes they were. Check the sources. 1 full broadside from a 1st rate in most cases would leave a frigate disabled and adrift. Exactly how it's represented now.
