We are a group of 5 guys, who used to play and love the combat, back in sea trials... I put in over 300hrs, most of my friends did the same. 
We never took to liking the OW, thats just our preferences. 
  There are no plans to go back to a sea trials "type" game, is there?

Naval Action Legends was an attempt to forego open water and create a lobby based game. It received a lukewarm reception and (just my opinion) they did not have the resources to maintaining/developing it and the main game so if was put on (possibly permanent) hold.

After they finish Naval Action, I am sure Legends will come next. 

Just a WOT or WOW clone with ship combat, which is better for milking players, premium xp, paints, premium ships which earns more money etc.

Hm, well no need to make a WOT clone, i dont think Sea Trials were a clone, it was more like "Naval battle" instant action simulator. It was just ALOT less tedius and frankly more rewarding to skilled players who likes combat, than the grind that is OW. I hope one day it will come back, properly. And that the player numbers for it will be like the old days. I wont hold my breath tho. Guess i'll check back in half a year.

I wish NA would use what it learned in the Legend variant and put in duel rooms into the NA game again. If you get sunk or captured in the duel, you should get your ship back. This would allow for bragging rights for the winner and for an easier path to learn the nuances of PvP....it would be great if you could arrange to meet someone specific in the duel room, or could choose to be matched against someone of a specific talent level....

I've got patience, I've been wanting fighting centered NA since 2016. If we're lucky NA2 will be our ticket.
