This thread is for minor things that really don't deserve their own thread, here's 3 of mine.

Are fires inconsequential?: If you keep survival on then you'll never risk a fire spreading, and small fires do not do damage to sails and if they do damage to hull then it's very minor, maybe less than 2%.
So what are fires suppose to do besides take a dozen crew to extinguish? Fires should have more effect imo.

Rigging Damage: Mast damage, sail damage, but we're missing the most important one, rigging damage. Rigging damage should be tied directly to masts strength. A mast should be much harder to fall unless the rigging is damaged. Rigging damage is the third pillar to manueverability and needs it's own hitbox/damage model for masts damage to be realistic.

Crew Size: No not crew numbers, the actual size of the men you see on ship are unrealistically big, Like each guy is over 8 feet tall which is a laugh. Please shrink them down to the right size, it looks atrocious. Also gamelabs why are you holding out? Give us crew on ALL cannons not just half. It looks so bad to have half the deck guns manned. Do it right please.

Fishing Vessel: A fishing version of the cutter with no cannons, instead fishing posts equipt as cannons for increased fishing drops (not bottles)

Feel free to add more. I will add the best ones here, and I will give credit to that person.

@Draymoor Small arms fire in battles: Musketry, deck guns, visual and sound, not exclusive to boarding menu.

Small arms fire during battles, not only during boarding.
We are suppose to be role-playing a ship's captain/admiral or what have you, our own characters are not visually represented anywhere. That should change.
Rougher seas, this should be more the focus of storms over extremely heavy fog.
Easier magazine damage for smaller vessels taking massive broadsides from SOL. Leading to more small ships exploding.
Larger difference between cannons of different calibers.

No no, we need a new thread not one from 4 years ago. Too old, too much outdated information and ideas. Lets do a fresh one for fresh ideas.

Fire needs to be more important, I support that. Ships should blow up after hitting a certain percentage of their HP (specially the middle bar hp), if you get to 2 to 3% hp on it (counting that your ship already lost both hull sides and are pretty much losing the middle bar hp), it would signify that your gunpowder hold were hit and ignited, instantly blows up and sink, with a good sinking animation to back it up. That would be way more accurate than just sink without any problems at all.

Turn down the blow AOE so it doesn't take 3 ships around a 250m ratios and it's all good.
