Kejsaren Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 (edited) Finding historical chinese flags not easy, there aren't many that would fit the game. So no wonder the devs left us with not so many to choose from. Ming dynasti flag from year 1368-1644, however not sure if fictional or historical. Because i also read that Throughout majority of history China had no need for a national flag. The first Chinese national flag was adopted in 1889 during the Qing dynasty. (Those flags we already have in game). And as for the flag below, "When the Qing dynasty purchased warships from the United Kingdom in 1862, Horatio Nelson Lay designed several naval flags based on the custom flag he designed.[9] These proposals were not recognized by the Qing dynasty government.[10]" (source wikipedia) So i guess neither of them would be historial accurate to implement in game, thought i would post them anyway. rbnhd76 Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 My biggest suggestion is flags in the open world. Also maybe some sort of pennant or signal flag to denote size and amount of fleet escorts. Use the scope to see nation, ship and fleet info with no menu box, but can click as usual.

In recent months it has been investigated whether this flag is the real West Frisian flag. Advice from flag experts was sought. This research shows that the flag with the azure blue background and the two prominent lions plus five cubes in gold can be considered the real West Frisian flag. This flag reflects the old Frisian coat of arms, which was already used in the Middle Ages. That weapon appears in the Dutch Chronicle (1405-1409), recorded by Heraut Gelre. On that weapon are two prominent lions surrounded by white tokens. West Friesland has maintained this weapon, only the white blocks (tokens) became silver. The number was later reduced to five and the cubes, like the lions, turned golden. The flag is a reflection of the coat of arms on the shield. source: https://www.westfriesgenootschap.nl/genootschap/actueel/2009/genootschap_actueel_raadsel_vijf_blokjes.php Edited April 25, 2020 by Thonys

Thonys Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 (edited) Flag proposal: Noord-Brabant Dimensions 2:3 Noord-Brabant Noord -Brabant 1514-1795 History The North Brabant flag dates from the Middle Ages. Since the proclamation of the County of Leuven during the Lorraine period, the colors red and white appear in Brabant standards, flags and pennants. The Duchy of Brabant adopted these colors. During the Middle Ages and the centuries* that followed, red and white were widely used. Ships in particular sail under a red and white flag, especially in Antwerp. The flag fell into disuse at the end of the 18th century. The red and white checkered flag has only been the official flag of the province of Noord-Brabant since 1959. course : https://www.wikiwand.com/nl/Vlag_van_Noord-Brabant note*: This flag has the highest seniority in the netherlands (first on the left, so it's a important flag) final.
