• the Flag of the Company of Scotland Trading to Africa and the Indies (1698) ?

Sure, but if you're going to give we Scots a proper flag....It might as well be our favourite.  We already have the Red ensign......Looks too English IMO! (and the St Andrews cross can be mistaken for Russian..)

Would it be possible to create a community fantasy national flags pack for DLC? Some of the flags are very historical but very boring looking. Some community members could design new flags inspired on historical sources?

dear admin, you should make some global flags available for all (from nations not yet in this game) like Portugal and or Austria for instance.

@admin I know you working on other protects but can we get a slider that we can make our flags bigger or smaller? That would be very cool. It has not a high priority but would be a cool feature.

Btw we could also have a slider to choose how worn our flags are maybe. If they are new or battlescared ( hope this word is right)

depending on how many battles you've used the flag in would be cool  reset to fresh flag when you sink with it

the front left ship is the yacht of the Prince of Orange   

from the looks of it it must be the "Orange blanche blue"(old dutch flag  orange white and blue) flag and the royal coat of arms on it 

it is the original Prinsen flag 

The colors are in French orange-blanc-bleu. This was 'translated' in Dutch as orange blanc bleu.

the red yellow red pennant is from the city Enkhuizen

also the flag dark bleu / white seems to be from that city Enkhuizen

in the picture below we see the crest of the city enkhuizen on the ship

A painting by Ludolf Backhuysen with a view of the Rotterdam harbour shows a yacht with a white flag with the Rotterdam cypher and red-white-blue stripes at the top and bottom. According to Jos Poels (in [vxn] Vexilla Nostra no. 214) white flags with tricolour stripes at the top and bottom were used by administrators of the Navy Admiralities in earlier centuries. Maybe this was a flag of an administrator of the VOC Rotterdam Chamber?
