Patch 28: Flags

Captains.

Patch has been deployed today. The list of changes is very simple. 

Flags DLC was added to the game.

USS Constitution note bug fixed. But the old corrupted notes will not work.
Those who have old corrupted notes please ask for replacement in the support section.

I assume this is sarcasm? Removing it from public buildings yes, but a game set during the American Civil War! They reinstated it in the end, but that's crazy.

I'm not particularly excited about flags tbh but I will buy cos it's not a PTW DLC and so I approve, and I will do my little bit to get this hello kittying game finished!

There is no indication to suggest this will be true. If anything these devs could be criticised for prolonging the development time. They could have put a bow on what we got now and called it a release and sell it as a full product. Instead they are taking great pains to keep working on the game to bring it to a finished state. Saying that the game will be released in an unfinished state is pure and unfounded speculation.

About DLC, I'm not the greatest fan of the four other DLCs, but the flag DLC I wholeheartedly support, and I'm more than happy to buy it even while the main game is not finished yet.

You again sell the game i completely bought in 2016. Piece by piece. You take money from current veterans instead of attracting new players. Of course, such unfinished game only scares away. DLC in alpha(!) is the worst thing. This is a relationship to the community.

I bought a coffee maker in 2014...  Strangely enough they haven't sent me the new espresso making attachment that now is available for it...  It still works ok, though.

Except it's more like you if that coffee maker didn't have a filter and you had been asking for one for months and instead they ask you to buy that shiny new attachment. The product should be complete before any shiny add-ons are sold.

Ya, um, when we bought the game we were expected to have all things before release to be included. There were explorer things expected that never came. Quite a few other things expected that never came. Flags that were expected and.....came only in the form of yet another paid dlc?

Horrible parallel. Flags are not "new content". It is content we expected to have with the purchase of the game, mainly because it was promised on this forum, and then delayed for so long they thought we forgot about it. Just like we haven't forgotten about the Explorer and bugs/plants/birds collection missions. There are many things that were "advertised" as in-game and what to expect, yet have not seen. But these are things we paid for when purchasing the game originally.

Now, I can understand the other DLCs, they make sense. But not flags that were promised and hand picked by the players as for which ones to include.
On the thought of DLCs, @admin consider adding a DLC for unlimited Perk Resets. Or better yet, add it to the Admiralty Connection.

I would love to know what led you to believe that flags would not be DLC....  I have never seen a quote from Admin on these forums stating otherwise.

I like that even Steam page says: "we might add more flags to the dlc and that for free"

Therefore I see the price as an investment and not as overpriced like other say.

Might can also mean they make a new flag Dlc. Could be clan flag as a seperat Dlc

No. Nobody forget anything. Thats why we always are careful with promises and I will insist that you are spreading wrong info based on your assumptions without any connection to  reality and facts. 

All what was promised in early access when we started pre-orders was this

What we are selling is all on written on the steam store page. I would strongly suggest you read the steam official store page and steam green light page before making false confusing statements that might influence people who come here.

We delivered on all our store facing promises. You should not expect ANYTHING beyond what is on steam green light and steam page to be added ever. Everything EXTRA is comes either from a desire to deliver more for free or we will have to charge for it to even make it.

 

ps. exploration was started to be implemented in form of fishing. We have realistic fishing habitats and real caribbean fish. But exploration was abandoned because no-one ever said thank you for spending time on fishing and people honestly  fish to get bottles. Thus there will be no exploration until it can be made interesting. But the key point remains. Exploration was only discussed. it was never promised on the official store pages.

Not what I would have thought a map was. I buy a map to Denmark. It dosen’t really change wether is day, night ore there is a storm. Not that it matter to me. Didn’t read the steam. Saw a couple of trafalgar battles on youtube and was sold.
